Another day another dollar! I was on my way to the music award show because I was a photographer hired by the academy to take pictures of the nominees. I was in my car and trying to find a place to park which was surprisingly hard, because I have to show up earlier to all the shows.
After I found a place to park I got out and set up all my camera gear in the spot I was supposed to be near the red carpet. I was pretty excited because I heard a few of my favorite bands were going to be here, it was the 80s after all! While I set up and everyone else set up, paparazzi, etc, I saw my friend William who was also a photographer walk up to me.
"Hey Y/n!"
"Hey WIlliam!" I gave him a short hug as we greeted each other.
"I didn't know you were working this one" he said
"Yeh, me either until about a day ago" I responded as we both laughed.
"Well I'll let you get back to work then"
"Alright, thanks Will, by the way, do you know anyone who is showing up to this thing?"
"No not many but I know Bon Jovi is gonna be here, Motley Crue, Kiss, and someone told me Dokken was gonna show up"
"Oh ok, well thanks!"
"No problem!" He called as he Made way back to his station.
Kiss... wow... I haven't shot them before but I love their music! I think their bassist/singer Gene Simmons is pretty hot too, so I was pretty nervous if I ever got sent to one of their gigs.
I had shot the other bands before. I was sent to a Bon Jovi live show, a Motley Crue show, and a photo shoot for Dokken.
Some time passed as a talked to some of the guys around me until the first limo showed up with a band called Britney Fox in it. I had heard their new song and I knew why they were there. I snapped a few pictures of them as they walked the carpet and eventually the next limo brought out Motley Crue, and then Bon Jovi, etc.

I snapped some pictures of him and waved as I got more excited, then when the drummer showed up about 15 minutes later I figured they were showing in separate cars. After the next few photos with the next few people Gene Simmons showed up looking gorgeous as ever. I took as many pictures as I possibly could as he finished the carpet and sat down with everyone else at their tables.
After the next few photos with some other producers and managers it was eventually my time to leave because I was only booked for the carpet. I packed up all my things and went to find my car in the parking lots. I couldn't find where I was parked but while I was looking I heard a familiar voice behind me say "would you like some help miss?"
I turned around to see who it was and it was Gene Simmons!!!
"No I'm ok, thank you for the offer though" I replied
"Shouldn't you be inside?" He asked
"Oh no, I was only booked to shoot for the carpet, but I can't seem to find my car"
"Ah, well I was just leaving as well, I hate these award shows. We could give you a ride home in the limo?"
"That sounds like so much trouble I wouldn't want to intrude"
"No problem at all, I insist" he said
"Well alright" I said as we started walking to the limo. I didn't have too many bags of equipment so it all fit in the vehicle fine as Gene and I both sat in the back of the limo which was pretty spacey to my surprise.
We made small talk for a little before gene started moving his hand towards mine and grasped it gently. He came closer to my ear and said
"It may be a little bit of a longer trip to where you are staying, and the driver cant hear us"
I gasped a little and didn't say anything in attempt to not misread the moment.
"I could show you something, if you want"
