Chapter 2
“Today will be partly-cloudy. Highs in the upper 90’s and lows in the lower 70’s. There will be a 10% chance of rain and 10% humidity.” said a unknown, but predictable voice. The radio always wakes me up with the boring blurness of weather, not a song like Grenade by Bruno Mars or Hold it Against Me by Brittney Spears. Ugh.
I sit up in bed and realize that it was just a dream. (No pun intended, Nelly) While I am attempting to get my lazy butt out of bed, I tripped over my own feet and landed smack on my face. Way to start the morning.
I took a shower, did my makeup, and got dressed (the usual). I am not really the drop-dead gorgeous, cheerleader, popular, slut that most of the girls are at my school. I am not gorgeous, but not ugly. I would consider myself a bit above normal.
I try not to attend the parties at school which only result in the football guys and the girls hooking up, getting drunk, and dealing drugs. You may be thinking, “She is such a goody two-shoes” but not so fast. I have had my part in crime…. And the punishment, if you get what I am saying. I once stole some stuff from a store in the mall, and as a result I stayed the night in jail. I have been in many risky situations. It seems like I have a tendency to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But I have always been able to get out of those situations without harm.
I go downstairs to find that both my parents have already left for work. My dad is a cop for the Napa Valley Police Dept. and my mom is a registered nurse at the local hospital.
I have three other siblings. Two brothers and a sister. My sister Adrienne is in her junior year of college, Jake is a senior in high school, and Kyle is a 8th grader.
Adrienne is engaged to marry some rich billionaire who won her heart over at some business convention. Romantic, right? She is a dark dark bruntette, with a great figure (pretty much our whole family does as well).
Jake, on the other hand, is practically the opposite of Adrienne and myself. He is the linebacker for the football and is 100% player material. Always stays over at girls houses, always going out to the club. As for his academics, I am very surprised he actually made it to be a senior. I guess since its his final year in high school, and most of his friends graduated last year, he is studying a eensy, teensy, tiny, microscopic little bit, but I don’t think it has made a difference so far.
Kyle is one of those people who I am surprised he is not been diagnosed bipolar. One minute he can be sweet, sensitive, and really nice. The next minute he will be yelling, screaming, and fighting with me for no particular reason. And I am not saying that because I am his sister. One time he almost socked me because my socks were in his drawer accidently. He sure is a character. He used to be a anti-social nerd all the way through grade school, but once he hit middle school, he lightened up a bit and actually started to TALK to people instead of just listening to people and answering their questions with one word sentences.
I grabbed a bagel, stuffed in my mouth, grabbed my bookbag and headed torwards the car. I absolutely love my ’95 Mustang. It is incredibally awesome with its convertible top and shiny blue coat. Did I mention that I has an automatic transmission? Well, It does, which, in my case, is a good thing because it keeps the kids at school from skipping and hijacking my car, since most of them aren’t smart enough to know what a clutch it.
I started my car and turned on my radio. Some Usher was on so I sang with like a retard. I thought to myself, “This is going to be an interesting day.”
