Sweet . Little . Unforgettable . Thing

Night had come around again, as it always had everyday, it had taken it's time with how the hours of the day seemed to stretch on. The stores lights flickered every so often, allowing the sunset that crept into the store to be more clear, it casted a dull orange across it. Ahead now was the dreaded nightshift, it came like a haunting ghost that seemed to grow with the ever darkening sky. The constant tick of the clock repaying in his ears as the morning and afternoon had been quiet, but Jungkook liked quiet.
But sometimes it was numbing, he would get to lost in the sea of his thoughts, sometimes he would float atop it or drown as he was dragged down to wherever it took him. Today was what he'd like to consider a moppy day for him. He was down in the dumps, exhaustion radiated off of him he was sure, it was clear in his slumped form or soft ragged airy breaths. The thought of climbing into his not so soft bed was tempting. His stomach grumbled with a vengeance that it was embarrassing even though only he was the one to witness it. All he had eaten was a sad slightly expire protein bar he had grabbed in the early morning at the local convenience store.
A downside of being the only worker for the whole store was having to maintain it basically all day every day. The owner rarely ever came to check up on him. Coming in and out to grab any cash money made or grabbing some of his own products. That was about it, Jungkook had to be basically every kind of worker here so that the place could function. Cleaning people's messes were definitely not great, people didn't seem to care how it was him who had to deal with it. All of this was exhausting, he had almost begged them to employ more people but no one but so not so great people had come to be interviewed. So he was stuck, it was as if everyone was walking along with their life and he was frozen as he watched people create accomplishments for themselves. It was like watching the cast that drove past the shop as he watched on solemnly. The flickers of joy he saw from those who were coming hope from work, returning to a welcoming home he was sure.
A home, huh.
What would his parents think if they saw where he was now? He didn't know, it had been forever since he had talked to them. A mixture of embarrassment and fear. Embarrassed in who he had become and what he was doing along with a fear of them finding out about why he became this and their utter disappointment. Although they were never one to show their affection physically it was in the praising words, little touches and the freedom they gave him. At first they seem to try and call him but overtime it had stopped. That hurt, it felt as if they had given up on him, but wasn't it his fault. He gave up on them first?
Wanting to avoid thinking further Jungkook turned his attention to the bustling city that came to life right before his eyes. Sometimes he would like to imagine all the cars as fishes with the way they would travel, as if the road was a stream that took them to their destination. It was a weird thought he would admit but thinking like this would add some enjoyment to his boring days. Being a Sunday night he was sure the shop would be much busier then usual. People coming home from work or school, all the pent up emotions of the week ready to be exhausted through partying and what came with it.
There was no lacky of wacko teens and adults dressed in all to revealing clothes and heavy makeup that would stumble into this not so humble shop with their just as wasted partners. Rifling though all the items and leaving a trail of mess in their wake. Even if the sign outside said no drunkards allowed, there was no point, how would you expect a drunkard to be eloquent enough to read it. It was him who would have to ask them politely to leave only to be swore at, spat on and much more. Although there was no lack of this there were some customers who were much more quiet and calm who waltzed into the store from the night club next door. Dressed in expensive brands whether it be gucci or what not. They always seem to know what they would want, leaving as quickly as they came with their wanted items.
