LOST IN THOUGHT

The day had just begun. Clouds moving slowly in the morning sky, as if they had just woken up and were on their way to work as many other people began to do. It had been kissed into brilliant white by the sun. Light grew steadily outside the window letting in steady streams into the dark-colored shop. Jungkook lay his head on the smooth countertop. He wandered lazily what the day would bring. The world was beginning to burst with vibrancy through it's loving rays that would cast it's warmth on the dwellers below as if creating a pathway to wanderers. But Jungkook just felt lost, sad in moments like these
Sometimes, like right now— when he was lost in his mind— he'll reflect on his past and try to pinpoint where he went off track in my mind. Where did it go wrong?
Here he was working on a job that just gave him enough income to survive, the potent smell of cheap disinfectant had long gone numb to his nose. The questionable stains on some parts of the carpet were left unanswered on what it was. He long learned to just do his job and nothing else. Compared to the extravagant strip club next door this place looked simply dingy with the peeling walls and dingy lights that would flicker every so often.
Every so often people would come in, most of them looking sketchy as they would skim the items that aligned the shelf. When he was younger he had been terrified if someone would jump him, he didn't want to die alone. Luckily in the early parts of the day barely anyone would come here in broad daylight. Which he was immensely grateful for, although he didn't want the shop to go bankrupt or he would be homeless.
But at night it was a different story with drunk horny men barraging in reeking of alcohol. Despite working here for so long he still feared the customers sometimes as they would invade his personal space at times. But all he could do was suck it up and give them his customer service smile.
Most people would rather be dead than getting spotted working in a place like this. Which was great in some aspects since he managed to land a job here. No other option was left for him though, who else would be dumb enough to hire a university student who hadn't finished his degree. He had been brimming with youth, baby fat still lingering on his cheeks.
Who could he blame but his naive self who decided to fall in love with people out of his reach? His heart craved men who were already content with what they had, who would want to add him to something already so perfect. It was only after three pain-staking years did he realize his pinning would come back fruitless.
The thought had come so abruptly that he couldn't help but tumble over at its ferocity. It was on an unsuspecting Sunday night, these days he cherished closely as they would always have a group hang out at these times despite all living together.
Jimin had came bounding into the room with his adorable mochi smile the other's couldn't help coo over, soon said male was tucked snuggly into Taehyung's embrace. That connection was something he had always envied but he understood they knew each other then they knew him. Their title of being soulmates was no lie in his eyes, they seem to complete each other perfectly,
On one of the reclining chairs, Yoongi and Hoseok were chatting amongst themselves. Their personalities balance one another, while Yoongi was quiet and reserved Hoseok was loud and bubbly. But he knew they could understand each other easily with little to no words needing to be said.
Don't get him started on Jin and Namjoon. Namjoon was known to always push himself, being in control of everything, but there was the moment he needed to be vulnerable. He allowed that with Jin, being his oldest hyung. When Jin needed to talk to someone Namjoon was right there with his insightful words and patient self. Their dynamic was unique and nothing could replace what they had.
