BREAK ME

─┉»↠ ≈☆≈ ↞«┉─

The night was cold, casting it's soft glow, it was a lucid moon which had its watchful set on the passers-by. It was like a woven blanket of shades of grey and blue giving comfort to each soul, especially those lost and dreaming upon such a chilly night as if guiding them home. Seven souls lay amongst each other sharing their heart, the string began to repair themselves in one another's present.

Jungkook was lost in the ocean of his never-ending thoughts, sinking into it further and further, giving way to any rational reasons to prevail. The heartbeat reminding him that this was truly happening, he was given a chance, whether it be a one-time thing to be in their embrace one again. He felt like anything could break him in that moment, any comment or disturbance could cause ripples in his thoughts to become waves that crashed over him.

The chimes of the door rang throughout the store, shattering the moment into fragments. Once a warm inviting ocean became cold and desolate, its tendrils dragging him harshly into his darker thoughts. The stark contrast of both realities almost burned him.

The pungent smell of alcohol drifted into his sensitive nose, and he curled back, wrenching himself from the arms that held him. The warmth instantly beginning to fall off the surface of his skin and the warmth that coated his heart. Now it was ice cold, as if being dunked in freezing cold water.

Greedy! Greedy! Greedy!

Jungkook was being so very greedy, he couldn't have this. He didn't deserve this, no matter how much his heart yearned for them. Their lives didn't collide. He was well aware of this – their difference – but he was a fool. A lovesick fool for people so unreachable. Everything had shattered around him, but his love for them, and it was his mistake. It was never meant to be, they were never fated to belong to him. To do so would be a sin.

His heart yearned for them with every beat of his heart. There wasn't a promise he wouldn't have kept for them, well until it had all become too much. Was it his fault though, they broke it first, they broke his heart first?

The drunken slurs made him feel drunk off of them with the way he had when from being on cloud nine to being dumped in an ice-cold bucket of his grievances and pain. His heart raced watching as they began to kick the drunken teens out and the knocked-out pervert, the sign was flipped to close, and the door was locked with a click. All the attention was on Jungkook, probably not for a good reason.

It was just them once again, but now the atmosphere had gone with it's warmth, that seemed to have long melted away, now filled with unresolved tension. It was one that made the hairs on his neck rise, one which he had tried so hard to avoid. It was just them, that began sinking in. Panic flooding into Jungkook's system, he was never a person good at confrontations. Preferring to avoid being the centre of attention. After all he was just some mob character while they were the protagonist.

When someone wanted to get close to them but no approach, he was the one people came to, whether it be with their love letters or asking them to go to their parties. Jungkook was irrelevant in their eyes and could almost be seen as a leech. Whenever he walked throughout the campus by their side eyes of disgust and envy would be shot right at him while the others were looked on like Gods. Personally, he didn't think you should idolise people, that was unhealthy. But who was he too talk; he was worse than them all? Falling in love with your best friends? Now that was sick.

But it was okay, they seemed to be happy and content with him there. Always trying to include Jungkook in their activities. Well until it wasn't, he didn't miss the way their smiles would slip ever so slightly when he bounded up to them. Definitely not missing how much further away they were straying from him, close by but never close enough. Then the invites became less and less, joyful memories being made dwindling into ones of him sobbing at the loneliness that consumed him, eating him alive.
