007  dating?

"Yes, Ari." Maleea huffed, turning at the intersection, two minutes out from the crime scene. "Okay, so, I want to have some friends over tonight." The boy hesitantly suggested over the phone. "How many friends?" Maleea questioned, driving the streets by memory, perks of growing up on a cluster of gorgeous islands. "Like ten." Ari rushed out quickly, hoping his older sister hadn't heard the double digits. "Ten? Ari, ten is not 'some friends' ten is the beginning of a small party." The brunette argued, parking her car as she had reached her destination. When she pulled up, Danny tapped on her window, before turning the car off, she wound the window down, continuing her conversation. "Okay, so I would like to have a party tonight." Ari sighed out. "I'll think about it. Goodbye." Maleea quickly hung up, gazing above her, noticing Danny's sly smirk and his new addition of a walking stick.

"What, Daniel? And what happened to you?" She questioned the blonde, unimpressed already knowing he was going to take the teenager's side. "I vote for the party going ahead. And I tore my ACL." He shrugged, a smirk now forming on the brunette's face. "I can't wait till Gracie starts dating, so I can gang up against you." She giggled, exiting her car and closing the door, Danny stood gobsmacked at the thought. She walked in the direction of Steve, who was getting out of his car. "Dating?" Danny shouted after her, causing another giggle to escape the girl. Upon hearing her, Steve turned sending a small smile her way, before his attention deterred to whoever was in his car. "Stay." He pointed, a barking noise coming from the car. With furrowed brows, Maleea peaked in, seeing none other than Mary McGarrett herself.

"M'n'm!" Maleea exclaimed, swiftly moving to the driver's side window. "When on Earth did you get here. And why didn't you tell me?" The brunette smacked the man next to her on the chest. "Ow." He feigned injury. With a scoff and roll of her eyes Maleea turned back to Mary. "I missed you!" Mary exclaimed. "We're having breakfast tomorrow morning!" The brunette suggested, the blonde woman nodding enthusiastically. "I'm going to go do my job now, love you." She waved, walking away from the car, slightly jogging over to Chin. "Steve." Mary called out, gaining her older brother's attention. "I'm glad she's back in your life. You're a better person. A happier person with her in it." She smiled at the man, a small smile gracing his face also.

"What happened to you?" Steve asked the blonde man as their steps fell in line. "What, do you and Maleea have a team meeting about how you can be the same person everyday, or does that come naturally. She literally just asked me the same question five minutes ago." Danny responded to the brunette, a smirk on his face. "What can I say? Great minds think alike." He grinned, proud of himself. "More like you corrupted a really great girl." Danny scoffed, limping as he walked, the walking stick not an amazing aid. "So are you going to tell me what happened, or am I just gonna guess?" Steve questioned, motioning to the walking stick. "I blame you. I tore my ACL somewhere in the last few weeks, all the fun we've been having together." Danny responded dryly.

"All right. Well, once you're done bitching about your boo-boo. I'd love to know what's going on here." Steve sarcastically replied. "We've got an escaped prisoner, three dead guards. Department of Public Safety's trying to figure out what the hell happened." Danny explained to his partner, the man looking around for the rest of his team. "Where are Chin, Kono and Maleea?" He questioned the blonde, confused on how the brunette woman he'd only seen minutes ago had disappeared so quickly. "Inside, getting background." The blonde breathed out. "Is that your sister in the car?" Danny asked the question he'd been holding in since the beginning of their conversation. "Yeah, I just came from the airport." The brunette man nodded as they walked towards the prison entrance. "You realise if she were a dog, you could get a ticket for leaving her in the car like that." Danny mused, finishing the situation entertaining.

"Can we focus, please?" Steve asked. "Yeah." Danny responded quickly. "Why do you have aneurism face?" The blonde questioned, coming face to face with the brunette for the first time that day. "I don't have aneurism face." Steve defended immediately. "She gave you aneurism face?" The blonde questioned again. "How many times in a row can you ask me the same question?" Steve asked, getting even more defensive than before, Danny pushing all the right buttons. "You gotta seek first to understand, then to be understood. It's one of the seven principles of all successful people." Danny concluded. "I will literally pay you cash to stop talking, okay?" The brunette offered.

"I'd take him up on that, usually Steve's wallet is padlocked shut, get in there while you can!" Maleea nodded to the blonde as she walked past their conversation, going to retrieve something she had left in her car. "Hey!" Steve scolded, the brunette woman giggling on her way, the blonde man chuckling at the pair, noting just how blind they were, not to see how in love they are with each other.

"Hey, Mary." Maleea greeted, strolling into Steve's office. "Ah, he's got you in timeout." The brunette nodded, the blonde lightly chuckling at her friend. "Wanna tell me what's going on?" The brunette raised her brows, taking a seat on the edge of Steve's desk, across from the blonde. "I just - I don't know what to do with my life, Leea. I want to achieve great things and do something meaningful, but I just feel like I'm not capable of it." Mary sounded deflated, and looking at the blonde, Maleea's chest dropped to her stomach. Here, sitting in front of her was a girl who used to be full of ambition and lust for life when she was young, she's been replaced with a woman who can't find her feet. "Mary, there's nothing wrong with being a little lost in life. You're at the age now, when you can really find yourself. Find what makes you happy." Maleea encouraged.

"You know, when you were younger, you were the sweetest, most ambitious girl I'd ever met. Always coming up with a new business plan, and selling it to the kids in the neighbourhood. That ambition and that drive is still in you, Mary. You just need to tap into it. Take a deep breath, take some time to centre yourself and have a really good think about what you want to come out of your life. The only way you fail, is by not trying. Remember that and keep your chin up, gorgeous girl. I have nothing but faith in you. I love you." She smiled, tears welling up in both girls' eyes, the pair rising to their feet to embrace in a hug. "I love you, Leea." Mary whispered.

"Mary, can you do me a favour?" Maleea asked. "Yes." The blonde responded. "Please stop giving your brother aneurism face, he's much prettier and a lot better company when he's not so stressed and worried about you." Maleea mentioned, Mary laughing with a nod. "I'll try." The blonde replied, the brunette sent her a smile as she went to exit the office, the tall brunette man walked in, his brows sewn together when he noticed the brunette woman leaving his office. "Hey." She caught his attention. "Go easy on her, she's working things out." She whispered, patting him softly on the chest, his heart fluttering and his chest burning in the best way possible, where she touched him.

"I can't believe you let her leave you." Mary commented.

"Yeah well, I'm going to get her back and she won't be doing that again."
