Damian hated being grounded. There was nothing to do, he wasn't allowed in the cave, he couldn't patrol at night, he couldn't even leave the manor. It sucked.

So there he was, sitting at his desk, staring at a blank page in his sketchbook, because of course today was the day that his brain decided to give him art block. Of course. He sat there silently doing nothing for thirty minutes, and then, he heard a knock on his window. What the hell?

Wait. It was Jon. Jonathan Kent. Superboy. The boy who was Damian's self proclaimed best friend. The boy who reminded him of a puppy.

Damian opened the window and glowered at Jon.

"I'm grounded."

"Oh, well, does that mean you can't hang out?"

"Yes, it does."

"Does it have to, because I'm sure your dad wouldn't notice if we just hung out in the garden all day?" Damian considered this. He was still angry with father for benching him and Todd. And he didn't agree with his punishment. Why not disobey him?

"If my father discovers this, and I get punished extra, I will stab you." Jon nodded.

"I expected that, now come on!" Jon dragged him out the window and the two of them ventured into the garden.

Jon talked non-stop about how Metropolis was doing, and he even asked about Gotham at one point. Damian relayed all the information about the Joker's recent escapades, even mentioning that Dick was currently in paris. He had been there, in fact, for nearly a week and a half.

It was getting frustrating. He didn't want to admit it, but he was beginning to miss his elder brother and all his stupid affection.

He spent the rest of the morning taking his mind off things with Jon, before he returned to his room.

It only took about 20 minutes before he heard his father call for him. He prepared his arguments, and ventured down to speak with his father.
