CHAPTER ONE
"Scarlett, they're here." The words made me sick to my stomach. How could they have passed our territory unnoticed by the gaurds? The Dark Crescent Pack was the most feared in all of the United States. I could've thrown up right there. Instead, I nodded towards my father and headed off to my fight group.

My father was our pack's beta, and he had been ordered to deliver the news to every family in our pack before reporting back to the battlfield. If the family had any fighters, they would head to the field as well. The others would head to our pack house's basement. That was the safest place possible.

I arrive at the front of my fight group, and wait for everyone to silence. I was the leader of fight group three, which was all the fighters aged fourteen to seventeen. I was barley seventeen, but I was a damn good fighter. Group three had twenty male fighters, and four female; including myself. My group doesn't take long to silence, and I start barking orders at them.

"This is not about a fair fight, do you understand me? The Dark Crescent Pack will not fight fair. They will play dirty, like always. Do not hesitate to team up on their wolves. Beat them until they're unconcious. These are orders!" I say, walking around the group. A chorus of agreements sound, and cheers follow.

"Go get them!" I yell, and my group heads out to the already bloody field. I am surprised to find that The Dark Crescent Pack has no female fighters. Our pack's female fighters were limited, but at least they existed. I feel prepared to take on anyone that dare to cross my path.

Suddenly, a man in his human form lunges at me. I snarl, throwing the first punch. I hit his cheekbone roughly and he growls in response. He slaps me hard across the cheek, and I gasp, feeling a bruise forming already. I kick his chest, and he retaliates by punching me right in the nose. I feel blood start to gush out, and I quickly wipe it away. I punch the guy twice in the face, and give him a hard kick to the gut. He falls to the ground, and I climb on top of him, continuously punching his face until I see him go limp.

I stand, taking a deep breath. A heavenly smell enters my senses, and a loud voice demanding attention screams on the top of his lungs, "STOP!" All of The Dark Crescent's pack fighters stop at once. My pack also pauses, shocked by the events in place.

A strong, tall man enters my view and walks straight towards me. Anyone near me instantly backs off, leaving me to stare into the eyes of the Alpha of The Dark Crescent Pack. I freeze, backing away as he stomps forward. "Mine," he growls, pushing me up against the nearest wall. Gasps and even shrieks sound from both packs, as everyone stares at us. I stare into my mate's eyes, and we both pause just to look into one another's eyes.

They say The Dark Crescent Pack's Alpha was ruthless. They say he had no mate, because the moon godess wouldn't dare match up anyone with someone so evil. They say he kills any pack that crosses him, or any rogue unfortunate enough to cross their territory line. They say he laughs as he counts the number of deaths he's inflicted. They say he is a monster. They say he is a killer. They say he is Alpha Adrien.
