Serendipity

Chapter Four

All I could do is stand awkwardly in front of them. I don't know why he hates me so much. This is my first time meeting him, so it is nearly impossible for us to have a bad history. I could feel tears well up in my eyes as I stood there. Rm and Taehyung ran after J-hope, leaving me alone with Jungkook and Jimin. I felt a hand on my shoulder, but I refuse to look up. I'm tearing this group apart, how could I dare look any of them in the eyes.

"Don't worry about him, okay? Kookie and I will be here to protect you no matter what!" Jimin said. He sounds cheerful, but I can still hear the aggravation in his voice. I quietly nod and go back into the changing room. I put back on my clothes and walk out, allowing them to guide me to the cashier. They paid for my clothes and started walking out the store.

I pull on Jungkook's sleeve and spoke quietly, "um, I'm sorry for the problems that I caused. You can just bring me back home and take your money back. I'm sure having me around will just hurt the group." Even now I couldn't look at him. I'm too embarrassed and upset, and the tears were already flowing out of my eyes.

I feel a hand tilt my chin up and I make eye contact with Jungkook. He smiles at me and silently wiped my tears. He removed my hand from his sleeve and held it in his own. Jimin is a few strides away, but he is watching us. His eyes are difficult to read, but his mouth was curved into a small smile. While walking over to us he says "If that were true then we wouldn't have bothered to keep Hobi in check. I don't know what you believe, but in my eyes, you are like a diamond in the dirt just waiting to be found and treasured."

"Yea!" Jungkook exclaims. He is enthusiastic but had nothing else to add. More tears well up in my eyes. These boys are so sweet, and I don't deserve to know them. This time, I keep my head up and smile through the tears. Jimin takes hold of my other hand and the three of us trot around the mall. A silent agreement to find the other members was made between us.
