Unexpected

Tension

I laughed as I made conversation with the guest at the party. I've grown up around half of these people so mingling with them wasn't so hard. I scanned the room to find Noor but I couldn't spot her.

"So where's the wife?" I was stumped by the question because I had no idea where she was. "Oh uh..." My friends laughed at me, "Already lost her? This has got to be a record" I laughed along with them.

I sighed in relief once I spotted her. "Ah there" I pointed at her and my friends looked over. "Noor" I called out as lovingly as I could which made me want to throw up.

She thankfully heard me and walked over to us, "Noor these are my childhood friends and guys... be nice" Noor was able to converse with them well and I was grateful she was able to hold herself well in front of others.

"You know Bhabhi I never thought Aryan would settle but I can see why now" said one of my closest friends, Ahaan Pandey. "Well I have that effect on people I suppose" Noor replied confidently.

It took all my energy to not snort at that response. "Yes she sure does" I said as I pulled her in by the waist. She tilted her head at my actions but I ignored it.

Ananya, Ahaan's cousin and Suhana's best friend came over to us, "I'm going steal Noor from you guys" With that she pulled her away and I continued chatting with my friends.

A few hours had past and it was getting quite late. I looked over to Noor to see if she seemed tired but I was surprised at how energetic she was.

This was the time I finally looked at her properly. Her laugh was adorable and quite frankly contagious. She joked around with everyone and I was impressed at how well she blended into the party.

Not to mention, her dress was immaculate. I couldn't help but notice how sexy she looked in it. "Might as well take her right here in the middle of the party" I snorted at Ahaan's remark. "Fuck off" I shoved him lightly and he laughed at me.

"Oh come on admit it you can't even take your eyes off her" I rolled my eyes and took a sip of my drink. "Whatever man admit it and knowing you I'm surprised you haven't fucked her in a random closet yet" I didn't say anything, he was right about that though.

If this was anybody else, I would be fucking her right now. I shook my head and tried to change the topic but it didn't work. "How is it like only having sex with one girl?" I looked at him not knowing the answer because I haven't even slept with her.

"Dude please tell me you're only sleeping with her" I gave Ahaan a 'duh' look and he sighed in relief. "Thank God! You're a lot of things but a cheater is not one of them" I let my eyes fall on Noor again and she was now eating a chocolate covered strawberry.

I watched her lips wrap around the fruit and take a bite. Her tongue licked the chocolate off her lips carefully and I couldn't help but stare. Ahaan cleared his throat and I looked over to him smirking at me. I shoved him lightly again and he laughed at me.

I tapped on Noor's shoulder and said, "Let's go, it's getting late" She smiled and nodded. We said our final goodbyes to everyone. Noor leaned in and whispered, "I'm cold can I have your jacket?" I took off my suit jacket and placed it over her shoulders.

We walked out of the venue and though there were lesser cameras, I was still irritated at how up close they were. I looked over to Noor and could tell she was not only tired but also uncomfortable with everyone around her.

I wrapped my arm around her and guided her to the car as fast as I could. I opened the door for her and let her in before getting in from the other side. On the way back, we sat much closer in comparison to the ride to the venue.

"My friends loved you, you made quite an impression" She didn't say anything but smiled as she fiddled with her fingers. "Also you...look great" I noticed a blush form on her cheeks but she brushed it off almost immediately.

We drove in silence before she spoke up softly, "I'm sorry for making you wait so long...I didn't know how to get ready so I asked Suhana" When she told me Suhana got her ready, I immediately understood why she was late. Suhana has never been on time for anything in her life.

"It's okay" She looked at me and smiled. "Your parties are crazy" She said as she leaned her head back on the seat and tilted her head cutely. I mimicked her actions as I replied, "Yeah you'll get used it, although you're pretty natural at it"

I noticed how perfect her lips looked at that moment and couldn't help but want to kiss her. I leaned in slightly and brought my face closer to her. I could feel her tense up but she didn't move.

I leaned in further and my lips were inches away from hers. The car came to a halt and I involuntarily moved away from her. I looked around and noticed we were home.

Noor quickly turned and stepped out of the car. I saw her hastily walk into the house without looking back. I didn't run after her in fact, I took my time to go back to our room. Once I entered, I noticed she had changed and went to sleep.
