I gazed wide eyed at Lev.

“Don’t joke around like this. You know we won’t get our lunch again, right?”

She shook her head. At this point I could see her lips slightly trembling and wondered what the hell was going on? The utterly terrified expression she was making, also didn't help me understand the situation.

“I’m not lying! It’s really falling apart. There are holes in the sky, take a look for yourself.” She pointed towards the side row, where there were windows.

Still not convinced, I got up from the place and pat her shoulder to calm her down, and went near the window to see what was going on.

Upon reaching the window silhouette, my eyes widened at what I saw.

“What?...”

I couldn’t believe my eyes at the scene I was watching.

No... this had to be a dream... A really bad one, I thought as I stepped back from the window silhouette.

There were really holes in the sky, more like Pentagon shaped. Huge, dark figures were coming out from the portal like thing. Their body were covered with cloak, making it impossible to recognize what the creatures looked like and each one held a giant scythe. Students out in the ground, all stared up at the sky, astonished at the sight.

At the very moment, I heard frantic footsteps emerging this way and someone dashed inside the classroom. I turned around and saw that it was Somi, but her shirt was covered in blood patches. She was breathing in a hectic way, her face condemned with true fear. My eyes widened at the sight and body went cold.

“Somi... Wha—”

Before I could ask her what had happened, she yanks me down under a desk and holds a finger to my lips, stopping me from saying another word.

Then I feel it before I see the presence of something ominous. I heard the low growl of the creature as it got nearer to our class and a really bad stench followed afterwards.

Somi yanks me further back under the desk before I could get a good look at what the creature was, but all I caught was glimpse of 9 ft tall dark silhouette passing down the corridor.

The smell emitting from that thing was so bad that it made my eyes burn and tears started to form. It smelled like everything I hated and of rotting flesh. I held in my breath and pressed my palm over my mouth and nose.

After the dark presence around the room slowly disappeared, I released my palm and took a deep breath. The air still had the stench but not strong like when the monster was near.

I looked back at Somi who looked equally shaken up, but as I was about to ask her what was going on, a loud sob stopped me.

Somi and me stared at each other, feeling confused because neither of us were really crying.

Shit!

I realized it was Lev, who was with us this whole time and the strange episode almost made me forget about her. I slowly crawled out of the tight space and made my way to her.

“Hey, Lev.”

I whispered to her as I got behind her trembling body, but she flinched at my voice and immediately looked back.

“Hey, hey. It’s just me... calm down.”

“O-oh my god... what is happening?...”

I took her trembling figure in my arms, feeling guilty that I had left her alone for even a second.

After she calmed down a bit, I pat her head to get her attention and pointed back to where Somi was, “Come, follow me. We’ll be safer if we’re in the corner and out of sight for whatever that thing was.”
