I never listened.

I never listened when my father told me to study harder.

I never listened when my mother told me to stop hanging out with those troubled boys.

I never listened when my brother told me to take the job he offered me.

I never listened when my wife begged me to stop making drugs.

I never listened when my son asked me to stay home more often.

But I understand now. Life has taught me a lesson, and I know what I must do.

I can fix everything.

But they've fastened the noose around my neck.
