Three more days.
Time was running out, and it was running out fast.
A knock came from his door.
"Come in," Bennett said sleepily, his voice cracking slightly.
"Hey, kiddo," DeeDee walked into his room softly. "So the Windblume Festival Dance is today. Did you wanna go? Your dads and I are going together."
Oh shit. He almost forgot about the annual Windblume Festival. Just recently they added a dance in the courtyard around the fountain so people would drink and dance while listening to festive music, all while celebrating Mondstadt's freedom.
"Oh, sure," Bennett said. He sat up in his bed, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands. "What time is it?"
"In about 30 minutes, so get ready soon," DeeDee said. Bennett nodded and DeeDee left him to get changed for the day.
He got out of bed and walked to his dresser, trying to find the nicest outfit he owned. He ended up picking a light blue sweater vest over a white button-down long-sleeve, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, along with some nice white shorts that dropped to his knees, with the dusty pair of shoes he wears every day. He attached his Vision to the belt loop on his shorts and tied a white ribbon around the collar of his shirt. He quickly fixed his messy hair to be a little less messy and decided he was set for the day.
Bennett walked out to the street and got to the fountain. He saw Eula and Amber holding hands ordering something at Good Hunter. They were both dressed up: Eula was wearing a long, cool-toned dress while Amber was in her regular outrider top along with a short black skirt. He also saw Jean in a black tuxedo, sharing a drink with Lisa, who was wearing a short dark purple skirt with a slit down the sides, revealing her thighs. Sucrose and Noelle walked past him, holding hands. Sucrose was wearing a short frilly skirt with her regular top while Noelle was in a white and gold maid-looking dress. He saw Kaeya and Albedo holding hands while sitting on a bench together, Kaeya in an expensive looking black suit while Albedo wore a white button-down with a black coat with tails over it.
Huh. So everyone was with their girlfriend or boyfriend. Was Bennett the only one alone?
"Bennett!" He turned around to the source of the voice, only to come face-to-face with Razor. "Bennett. You're here."
Bennett felt a blush coming to his cheeks, willing it to go away so it wasn't noticeable in front of Razor.
"Yeah!" he said. Shit, my voice totally cracked.
Razor looked around, seeing all the people spending time with their partners.
"Hey, Razor," Bennett said, praying that he didn't stutter or collapse onto the floor and curl up into a ball and cry.
"Yes?"
Shit. He was so nervous he felt like he was going to sweat out all the water in his body. "Would you like to," Bennett coughed, trying to hide his blushing face. "Would you like to, uh, d-dance with me?" he hid his face by staring at the ground, his hands in fists, his lips pursed tightly, preparing himself for Razor to decline.
"Oh- sure. Razor says yes," the boy said. Bennett snapped his head up in surprise.
"R-really?? You do?"
"Sure," Razor replied. He gave Bennett a soft smile.
"Well," Bennett said, holding out his hand. "Shall we?"
Razor grabbed his hand, the familiar feel of his rough hands comforting Bennett, making his stomach flutter. "We shall."
