Part 3

After the fire situation was handled, the time given to the competitors came to an end. Lu Fang resumed his role as the competition host, and had the teams bring their creations up to the judging table one by one.

After the other teams presented their creations, Zhan Zhao and Gongsun, the last to go, brought their cake up to the judges' table. Their cake was... interesting.

The cake was burnt to the point that it was entirely black. Because their cake got stuck to the pan, they had to use a spoon to scoop it out and the only part they could get out of the pan was the undercooked centre of the cake. What was left of their cake was a mushy and watery pile of undercooked cake batter, which reminded the judges of vomit.

The whipped cream had been mixed with tabasco sauce and strawberry jam, and it had one of the worst smells the judges had ever encountered. In addition to the smell, the cream was so red that you could feel your body start sweating from just standing beside it. Because of the strawberries that had been eaten by a certain thieving cat, they didn't have enough strawberries to put between the layers, so they could only put the few surviving strawberries on the top of the cake.

The three judges looked at the cake they presented and became nervous.

Bai Yutang mustered up his courage and was the first judge to speak, "What is it?"

With a smile, Zhan Zhao replied, "Victorian sponge cake!"

Bai Yutang looked at Zhan Zhao helplessly, "... Victorian sponge cake?"

Zhan Zhao nodded happily, "En."

Bai Yutang didn't say anything else and just looked at the cake.

Zhan Zhao looked at him hesitatingly and urged him, "Hurry up and try it!"

Bai Yutang looked up at Zhan Zhao helplessly. Because the cake was made by Zhan Zhao, he wanted to try it, but at the same time, because the cake was made by Zhan Zhao, he was afraid to try it.
