The Great SCI Bake Off

Part 4 - Final Part

After two hours of chaos in the kitchen, everyone eventually calmed down. The two brothers regained their senses and Bai Chi stopped crying.

Lu Fang saw that the competition could finally continue, so he straightened out his outfit and resumed his position, "Okay everyone, it's time to calculate the score. Let's give the judges a few minutes to discuss."

As the contestants started to wander off to allow the judges to discuss between themselves, Zhan Zhao hung back. Pulling out his puppy dog eyes once again, he glanced at Bai Yutang and called out to him, "Xiao Bai~~"

Bai Yutang had a bad feeling slowly creeping up his spine when he saw Zhan Zhao's expression, "Hmm?"

"About the scores... Can you give us bonus points for effort? You know that I have always gotten full marks during evaluations." As he said it, Zhan Zhao put emphasis on 'always'.

Bai Yutang looked at Zhan Zhao somewhat helplessly before sighing and asking, "What about your physical education ma..."

Before Bai Yutang could finish saying 'marks', Zhan Zhao lost his puppy dog eyes and his expression turned murderous, "Don't you dare continue that sentence!"

"Cough..." Bai Yutang was a little afraid about making Zhan Zhao angry, so he dropped the topic of his lacklustre physical education marks and decided to test his luck, "Ahem, well, if you really want to get some bonus points..." Bai Yutang lowered his voice, "then you can try to bribe one of the judges who also happens to be your lover with a special reward to maybe get some bonus points..."

Even though he clearly heard what Bai Yutang had said, Zhan Zhao looked at him innocently and asked, "Hmm, what was that?"

That bad feeling crept up higher as Bai Yutang looked at Zhan Zhao and responded in a low voice, "Well, I said..."

Before Bai Yutang could repeat what he had said, Zhan Zhao ruthlessly cut him off, "What did you just say, SCI captain, Captain Bai? Captain Bai of the serious crime investigation team, the fifth police captain from the famous Bai family, which is known for producing great criminal investigators and detectives. Captain Bai, the police captain who just solved a high-profile politician bribery case last week. Would you care to repeat what you just said?" With his arms crossed, Zhan Zhao asked in his most professional and stern tone.

Frozen in shock, Bai Yutang silently stared at Zhan Zhao. Unsure of how to respond, he stuttered, "I... uh... that... um...", before falling silent and lowering his head, "... nothing."

Satisfied with his reaction, Zhan Zhao nodded and turned around.

Bai Yutang hung his head and went back to Bai Jintang and Bai Chi so that they could score the creations.

The scoring process went relatively smoothly, as most of the contestants made proper cakes. However, once they reached the final team, they ran into some issues.

Bai Chi looked at the two brothers and asked, "For the last team, how many points do you think their... creation... deserves?"

Without hesitation, Bai Jintang answered, "Ten."

Bai Chi and Bai Yutang were both surprised, "Ten?!"

"Brother, I know he's your husband, but please be professional..." Bai Yutang sighed.

Bai Jintang looked at him with a downcast expression, "Yutang, I want to sleep on my own bed tonight. Right now, Gongsun's glare is telling me that my sleeping situation for this week depends on my decision here, so I have to think about this carefully. Out of everyone, I think you would understand this the best." As he said that, he nodded his head in the direction of Zhan Zhao.
