Peter pushes Fury's office door open and turns to face the Starks waiting in the hall. Giving no indication that he heard their supposedly secret interaction, he holds his hand out for mister stark to shake. He wants to make sure the famous genius, billionaire, father, and superhero can trust him.

"Mr. Parker at your service sir. I am a big fan of your work, and I promise not to bother you and your family unless completely necessary while I am at my own work. You will be safe under my watch. "

Mr. Stark pulls a signature fake paparazzi smile and takes Peter's hand to shake it. "I appreciate the dedication kid, but don't forget we're superheroes! We can protect you if things get messy. You just need to focus on getting your information." Peter lightly winces at this, but neither of the Starks notice. He reminds himself that the Stark family doesn't know that he also has powers. "Also" Mr. Stark picks up, "Don't worry about bothering us. We're going to be working together for a whole month, so you might as well interact with us like a normal human being." His words coming out in a light chuckle as he lets go of Peter's hand.

"Thank you." Peter lightly smiles back before turning to face Mrs. Stark. "And you too Mrs. Stark. I personally really admire your work as well." She smiles more genuinely than her husband did and accepts Peter's hand to shake as well. "I'm flattered, Mr. Parker."

They all turn to start walking toward the elevator as Mr. Stark resumes addressing Peter, "Now, I heard that your belongings are being brought to the compound at a later time, so why don't you come with us so we can show you around before they arrive?" He looks over to his wife to see an even larger smile adorning her face.

"We can discuss the plan for these upcoming weeks on the car ride over, and we can decide on an alibi as to why you will be staying with us so not to raise suspicion from Bucky or any of the other members of team Cap." Mrs. Stark's smile turns into a cold grimace as she says this. She doesn't want to have to go behind Bucky's back and spy on him, but he did try to kill her, her husband, and her coworkers/ friends multiple times when he was still fully under H.Y.D.R.A's control, so she thinks it's best to stay cautious. Peter is also able to detect a slight change in Mr. Stark's posture at the mention of Mr. Barnes. He is clearly also uncomfortable with the Idea of having to spy on Captain America's previously problematic best friend.

Peter glances toward his usual work space as they walk near it and pauses for a moment at the door. "Sorry Mister and Missus Stark, would you excuse me for a moment? I have to grab some folders from my desk. You can feel free to either come in with me or wait here depending on what makes you more comfortable." Peter apologetically bows his head to the couple before swiping his card on the scanner beside the door.

Mr. Stark's face brightens up a bit. "Of course! This is your workplace. We can take a detour." Mrs. Stark nods in agreement.

Peter lightly smiles and opens the door to reveal a large work room containing four desks, each covered in stacks of miscellaneous papers and half-disassembled gadgets. Of the two agents already in the room, one of them looks up from her work, while the other starts speaking without taking his eyes off of the tech he's tinkering on. "Hey Pete! Got some visitors?" he calls out.

The Starks look surprised that the man was able to recognise Peter without even looking up, but before they can question it, Peter just scoffs at the man. "The ability to recognise the pattern of my footsteps doesn't excuse you from having to look up from your work once and a while Grant." Grant snickers and sets down the tool he was using to pry at the disabled machine on his desk.

Looking up, Grant snarks back "Oh? When did you get so sassy? I thought you were the silen-" he cuts his own sentence off as he finally takes in who else has entered the room along with Peter. The woman in the corner just snorts at Grant's sudden realization. "Okay, wow." Grant squeaks out "Nevermind Pete. Uh. Mister and Missus stark! It's a pleasure!" The woman in the corner is now gasping for air between fits of laughter. The Starks both have huge smiles on their faces. Peter heads to a desk in the back corner of the room that is littered with lockboxes and miscellaneous sharp objects. He takes a key out of his back pocket to unlock one of the boxes and, after emptying its contents into his arms, he turns back towards the door and silently starts leaving.

The woman makes her way over to Peter and pats him on the back, "Oh come on petey, don't let him get to you! He's just trying to start conversation." She jokes. Peter rolls his eyes. He'd never let anything his coworkers say get to him. He just wants to get on with his mission without unnecessary distractions. After all, his work life is his work life, and his social life is his social life. He'll listen to their attempts at befriending him, but he won't get too close. Either way, He still doesn't want to be rude to anyone, so he lightly smiles and turns to the woman. "Thanks Mary." he mumbles. He resumes his beeline to the door and, with one hand on the handle, turns back to the Starks. "I have my papers. We're good to go." Peter holds the door open for the couple as they walk back into the hallway and shuts the door behind himself. They all make their way to the end of the hallway in silence and enter the elevator. Peter follows behind the successful couple all the way from the S.H.I.E.L.D elevator to a sleek tesla roadster in the parking complex beside the building. A chauffeur with what seems to be a permanent scowl on his face is standing beside the car door.

Mr. Stark quickly gives the man their destination, and gets in the back of the car with the two others. Peter's advanced hearing is able to pick up that the man is called "Happy" by Mr. Stark. There is a (most likely temporary) tinted window between the driver's and passenger's seats that is shut tight, and Peter doesn't think it is opened very often. The chauffeur pulls the car out of the parking complex and begins their journey. Conversation doesn't resume until the S.H.I.E.L.D. complex is out of view, as if a spell is keeping them from moving or talking in the presence of the building.

Finally, the car pulls around a corner and the spell is broken as Peter lightly shivers. Both of the starks notice and continue to watch as Peter sets down his armful of papers, unzips his hoodie, and proceeds to take it off. Unbeknownst to them, the little shiver Peter exhibited is actually his signature 'Spider Sense' telling him something is wrong. Without saying a word, the teenager plucks a small device from the back of his hoodie, lowers the window, and tosses it out. The Stark's faces are lined with shock, and Mrs. Stark is about to say something before Peter speaks up.

" Mary planted a tracker on my back." He explains to the perplexed couple. "She'll have fun tracking that Floridian family for a while before she finds out it's not me." Mr. Stark looks out the window, dumbfounded, to see that the car that just passed them indeed does have a Florida license plate. His wife looks at him for confirmation and he slightly nods his head in disbelief.

While Mr. Stark is gaping out the window, Peter picks up again quietly, "Last time, She ended up following a squirrel around Central Park for a good three days."

Mr. Stark holds back a snort at the last comment while Mrs. Stark smiles nervously at Peter. "You appear to be a very observant agent Mr. Parker" she starts," But that is an extreme breach of your privacy. Are any of her superior officers aware of this agent's behavior?"

Peter just chuckles. "I am her superior officer, ma'am. All of the agents I work with have made some sort of a game out of trying to track me. They're good agents when they get an assignment, so I let them have their fun. Plus, they pose no real threat to my privacy. Nothing can see or follow me without my knowledge."

Mrs. Stark's nervous smile turns tight as she realizes her mistake. "Ah, I apologize."

Peter just casually dismisses her with a wave of his hand. They sit in silence for a few minutes until Mr. Stark clears his throat "We should discuss your cover story Mr. Parker."

Both Peter and Mrs. Stark nod in agreement and the rest of the car ride to the compound is filled with thoughtful discussion of the weeks to come.
