SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO UPDATE!:)

Ellington lay in a hospital bed in the corner of the room, his skin so pale it looked white, his body so lifeless it looked dead. Tubes ran in and out of his arms, machines monitoring everything about him.

Rydel chewed on her lip and slowly walked over to him, shaking slightly. she pulled up a blue chair next to his bed and sat down, looking at him.

"hey" she whispered not caring that he was in a coma, just wanting to convince herself it wasn't real. as assumed, Ellington didn't move, didn't even stir. She slipped her bony hand into hers, sliding her skinny fingers through the gaps in between his larger fingers until their fingers were fully intwined.

Rydel squeezed his hand gently, but still no signs of life. She stared deep at his face. at his messy hair, closed eyes and tried desperately to remember how he was the day of the accident.

A single tear slipped down her rosy cheek as she remembered the past few days she had spent with him. even though he didn't understand any of it, she had been with the one she loved so very much.

but all that was gone. "if only i would have been completely honest with him instead of teaching dance in private. he would never have seen me with Brent, never had gotten mad and never have left. he would have never been hit by the car that lost his memory and never be here." Rydel whispered to herself. She squeezed his hand gently before wiping her tears and turning her phone on.

'1 new message' was the first notification that popped up. she opened it. It was from Rocky.

'hey, you left in a rush, is everything okay?' the message read.

she replied, 'yeah just got a phone call and had to go out. cover for me? thanks bro x'

Rydel was away t to put her phone away when her thumb accidentally pressed on the app labeled "photo album" and a bunch of pictures of her and Ellington popped up. She bit her lip, wanting to close the app but getting distracted by a picture of them.

It was one her mom, Stormie had taken for Instagram. he was holding her into a dipping position as if they had just been dancing. She had her hat hiding both of their faces which made it looked like they were kissing. she remebered the exact moment the photo was taken. Ellington was cheekily pulling faces behind the hat which had made her giggle. he had stopped and mouthed "I love you." she had done the same back to him, butterflies exploding in her stomach. she smiled at the memory, more tears forming in her eyes.

Swiping sideways, another picture popped up. This one was from one of their concerts in Brazil. At the end of the second chours from 'seven nation army' the lights dimmed and they kissed, listening to the screams coming from the audience. This particular concert the lights hadn't been dimmed enough so the kiss had been photographed, yet they didn't seem to mind. She giggled through her tears, remembering the sweatyness of the situation yet how cute he looked. She wiped the tears from her eyes and closed the photo album app.

She was about to turn her phone off when the background on her phone caught her eye. it was a picture of her and Ellington from the day before the first accident. They had both been sat on the rocks at the beach. Rydel had been sat with her legs over Ellington's lap and they had been talking and kissing. it had been perfect. She remembered the best moment of the whole day when he had turned to her, looked her in the eyes and said,

"Rydel Lynch, I love you so very much. Everytime we kiss, i feel a spark. A spark of love. That makes me feel over whelming happy. I just couldn't imagine my life with you."

By now, tears were streaming down Rydel's cheeks and there was no way to stop them. her lip quivered as she covered her face, sobbing into her hands.

After a few minutes she had an idea. "a spark of love. that's what he needs." Once again, she wiped her cheeks of tears before getting up and walking over so she stood next to him. Delicately, she brushed his hair off his face. Rydel put her hand on his cheek and kissed him on the lips, hoping with all her might that maybe, just maybe the love would be enough to get him to wake up.
