(Before this starts, I want to apologize. These past 4 months have been very crazy for me. I can't say much due to it being some personal stuff, but it's just been chaotic. Writing got pushed back simply because I either didn't have time, I was too tired, or lacked motivation. But since everything's calmed down now, I should be able to start writing regularly again. If something does come up again, I will tell you guys. You all deserve to at least know something's happening rather than me going dark for months without an explanation. So, once again, I'm sorry. I'll do better.)
2 hours after the events of the last chapter
Y/N: Alright, set it down. Gently- GENTLY!
*Crash*
Y/N: Oh come on...
Y/N along with the Undying were back at the Starforge. They'd been there for about... I'd say 30, 35 minutes. Not too long. Right now, they were unloading this metal. They had done a little bit of testing with it on that 'unknown' planet, and the results of them were pretty good thus far. Right now, he was trying to load the material into the station. But there was a small problem.
The material was heavily magnetic.
The station is 100 percent made of metal.
The things carrying the material were also made of metal.
2 Corruptors were very stuck to a large chunk of this material. 1 of them had the tip of their tail stuck and was getting help from another 3 to try and get free. The other was fully underneath and fully attached to this thing. Y/N wasn't mad, just a bit disappointed, which could be viewed as worse, but still.
Now, you may be wondering why Y/N is bothering so much with this stuff. The answer.
This stuff was an over-glorified magnet. Sure, it could do other things like be a very good energy conduit. Not to mention that with some modifications, it could be used as a hover technology of sorts. Or be used as an anti-energy armor, due to it naturally wanting to absorb energy.
But more importantly, he wanted a gun. A big gun. A big gun with thrusters.
There are two ways to make a big gun in this universe. Either you use some type of large energy weapon, or you use magnets to speed up a piece of metal to the speed of light.
One sounded more appealing than the other.
The main ingredient for a MAC cannon was magnets. Now they only needed to be constructed. As soon as the metal got there, they could start building the gun. Due to the design of the ship, it's easier to build the ship around the gun than it is the other way around, kinda like an A-10.
Y/N had plans, but Cortana did too.
She appears beside him with the idea of speaking to him. Instead, she's momentarily distracted by the Corruptor fuzzball in front of her.
Cortana: ... Do I even want to know?
Y/N: Magnets.
She makes a clicking noise with her mouth... can she even do that as a hologram? You know what, I'ma roll with it.
Cortana: Anyways, I have orders from Count Dooku.
Y/N: Oh... cool?
Cortana: . . . He wants you to delay the Republic's troop deployments across the galaxy.
Y/N: Geez, it's only been half a day since Geonosis was lost. Is he that salty about it?
Cortana: Believe me, he's very upset about it. But, with the war just starting, any blow could be crippling to the Republic. Consider this time frame the 'preparation' stage of the war. Most of the assets from both factions are here in the Southern part of the Galaxy. Both factions are in a rush to put units where they are needed most. Whoever wins that race first has a major tactical advantage.
