The sound of the beer bottle smashed into a thousand glittering fragments echoed through the dark hallway.

Vikash jerked awake from his sleep and rushed out of his bedroom. He hoped between the stairs to the hall.

Empty darkness is what welcomed him. He frowned and switched on the light to find his brother, flopped on the floor while leaning against the couch. He had heavy eyes that were ready to give up at any moment.

Vikash sighed wearily. This has been happening for the last one month. Kavin's drinking habits have found they're way back after years and Vikash had no idea how to fix it. He couldn't even ring to Adhi and make things worse for him. He was stuck between the happiness of two brothers.

Va da.. En thambi

Kavin drowsily called Vikash,

Sorry, Adhi'oda thambi..

He said chuckling painfully.

Vikash went and sat beside Kavin with his legs crossed. Vikash silently observed Kavin firmly holding another news bottle of booze which he took generous sips now and then.

Yenna da amaidhi'ya irukae? Unaku dhan enna thitha pudikume?

Kavin wobblingly patted Vikash's shoulder,

Thithiko, Ippo thitha ennaku kalaila yedhuvume nyabagam irukadhu. Yevlo venalum thithiko.

Vikash remained silent as Kavin turned around from him and faced the floor,

Na oru sadist'uh, manasatchi illada'van, selfish'uh, aprom vera yenamo onnu solviyae...

Kavin thought for the right word,

Ahn... Obsessive.

He snickered humourlessly

Ana en love'uh yarakume therila la?

Kavin took another gulp of the liquor,

Aniki ava en kaiye vitutu, avana thedi odhunadhu en kannu munnadhi apdhiye iruku!

He reminisced the scary moment,

Enna kandhuka koodha illada ava! Apdhiye marandhuta!

Vikash had already heard about it from Adhi and he knew this was coming up, just not this heartbreaking,

Oru nimisham uyire poiruchu...

Adhu dhan na reality.

Kavin jerked his head towards Vikash,

Ivlo naal nee pathadhu, aasai pathadhu, adhu illa nejam.

Vikash squeezed Kavin's shoulder,

Ippo nee paakuriye, adhu dhan unmai.

She's was never yours

Vikash's words rang like a curse in Kavin's ears,

Avunga setha kudha paravala'nu vandhadhu Adhi'na kaga, uyir polachi vandhadhum Adhi'na kaga. Naduvula nee yenna kastha padhurae?

Kavin laughed out loud like a psycho that it hurt Vikash to see him,

Adhu therinja na yen da avala innum love panna poren?

Kavin asked maniacally making Vikash click his tounge,

Idhu love illa'na! Purinjiko!

Vikash shook the drunk Kavin to bring some sense out of him. Instead Kavin was smiling in his drowsiness which irritated Vikash. He abruptly pushed Kavin and ran his fingers through his hair,
