Kashish was sitting in front of her mirror looking outside the window. She saw the stars shine but she was feeling a void inside of her. She knew it was her guilt. No matter how much she still hated Naina, the two girls had seen dreams of their marriage together. Made plans for them to complete before the marriage. But now, nothing mattered. How could it matter when she's not here? Kashish for the first time felt that she should've apologized to Naina and mended their friendship when they had time. But what do thinking about it now? What would it yield? Nothing! Kashish was all alone, about to be married to someone who wasn't even the guy she loved. But she was getting married to him beacuse of her father. She gave a last look at the picture of her and Naina's for the last time before putting it deep inside a box which was supposed to be long forgotten. She looked at her, her smile, all she could recall was the expressionless face that Naina had given her after their last ever conversation. Tears filled her eyes upon remembering the words. She took and picture and kept it inside the box.
Kashish: Goodbye old friend..
With this she slid the box beneath the bed and stood up to have a last look at herself.

Naina and Naveen had opened up her memory box once again and were talking about various people whom they were left to talk about whose faces could be identified from that memory box. They were looking through the various pictures of Naina's school time, their school photograph etc. when a picture of Kashish and Naina when they used to be friends came out. Naina looked at it. The words of their last encounter, their last conversation popped up in her head. She knew, now that she was telling everything to her Naveen bhaiya, he deserves to know how it all ended for good, he deserved to know about their last conversation.
Naina: Naveen bhaiya, pata hai, humne last baat ki thi college mai jab mai college chod ke jaa rahi thi.
Naveen: Uss time tak toh tum dono ki ladai go chuki thi na, tumne toh usse stranger bhi bana diya tha, toh tab tum dono mai kya baat hui? Aur kab hui? Tumne tph bola tha ki woh farewell party mai Tumne last dekha tha usse. Tab baat hui thi kya?
Naina: Ha. Naveen bhaiya woh humari last conversation thi jo ki maine khatam ki. Uss din maine sirf woh conversation hi nahi par mere aur Kashish ke rishte ko bhi ek clouser de diya tha. Hua aisa tha ki..
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°NARRATED °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
In college 1st year 2nd semester ending. Naina had decided they'll move away from Shimla to Nainital. All her friends that she had made in the college had gathered around to wish her farewell.
Seeing the crowd, Kashish and her friends made their way and saw Naina standing in the middle of everyone. At that time, a girl asked Kashish,
Girl: Tum Naina ko jaanti ho?
Kashish: Ha, we are good friends..
Girl: Oh! Waise tumhe pata hi hoga ki Naina Shimla chodke jaa rahi hai..bohot yaad ayegi usski!
Kashish was shocked to know this. She excused herself from there. While she was going, one of the girls from the crowd stopped her and said loudly.
Girl: Pata hai, yeh na Naina ki bohot acchi dost hai!
Kashish started looking here and there in panic. Naina upon hearing her friend say this looked at whom she was talking about. She was shocked to see Kashish being referred to as her bohot acchi dost.
Naina came closer to Kashish and asked her friend to let go of Kashish. Kashish straightened her dress and Naina dragged her to a near by silent spot to talk to her for this one last time.
Naina: Meri dost?! Dimag theek hai tumhara? Tum aur mai kab se dost ban gaye ab? Bolo Kashish?!
Kashish: dekho Naina, accept kar bhi lo ki tumne ek bohot badi galti kar di thi mujhse dosti todke. You and I both know that it was your biggest mistake.
Naina: You know what?! My biggest mistake I made in my life was to let people stay longer than they deserve.. and I let you stay longer than what you deserved. There was a time when I used to call you my best friend but now you are not even entitled to being called my best stranger..you mean nothing to me now. In the beginning I wished and hoped we resolved the fight but now I know that you can backstab me again now that you've already done it once. I don't need your fake friendship, even if I'm alone, I'm not alone, I either have my brother with me at home to call my friend or in class I have my God. I don't need such terrible snakes to live with me and bite me at their pleasure. You lost my friendship, my trust, my respect and your worth in my life..I think this transition is the best one I've ever had from a friend to a stranger. From now, we are just strangers and remember, we used to be friends, we aren't anymore.
With this Naina looked at Kashish with an expressionless face. Kashish was shocked. She just looked at Naina, she had never seen her like this before.
Naina: Good bye Miss Kashish Sinha. Aasha karti hu ki tumhari zindagi tumhe aage jaake buddhi de aur tum finally apne right decisions le sako kisi aur ke influence mai aake apne rishte aur na khoo. So this is it, we part our ways and I wish you good luck for your life ahead of you. Goodbye.
With this Naina left her alone. She went and joined her friends who were standing there to give her a farewell. Kashish looked at Naina, was she right? Was it her fault? Her loss? She shaked her head in order to clear it and went away in the different direction.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°NARRATION ENDS °°°°°°°°°°°°
Naina: Bas phir uske baad na mai uss se mili aur na hi woh kabhi bhi mujhse mili.
Naveen: Naina, meri pyari behena! Tumhe waise khudgarz dost nahi chahiye! You are fine even at your own! Tum me woh takat hai jo ki tumhe akele jeena ka sahara bhi de sakti hai! Just trust in yourself Naina.
Naina smiled. She knew her brother was right. She just needed to trust herself a little more. The bell rang and her brother then left to see who's on the door. Naina looked down at the picture of them.
Naina: Meri aur tumhari kahani, our transition from friends to enemies to nothing, nothing but just two strangers with some memories of each other. Some very nice memories and some very bad ones. Tum jaha bhi ho Kashish, chahe hum ab dost nahi hai, par yeh aasha karti hu ki tum theek ho aur khush ho. Tum meri zindagi ki ek ahem seekh ho. Sirf ek seekh hi nahi, ek ahem hissa ho meri zindagi ki. Mai tumhe jitna bhi bhulane ki koshish karu, haar jaati hu. I'm trying. But you are a scare on me Kashish, and scares don't fade or go away so easily from one's skin.
