Chapter 3

"Benzo?" Kier walked up to his body laying on the floor with Ekko. "Ben?" Kier called out to him but no answer. She felt tears prickle her eyes as she seen him lying on the floor dead.

"Kier he's..." If he said the words, it would make it real.

Ekko walked to a door, Kier followed him as she tried to bite back her tears. Ekko opened it and walked weakly.

Kier walked in behind him, head down. Not wanting to break down her angry reputation with tears.

Vi walked up to a crying Ekko and hugged him, Kier stayed back, if she were to get hugged, it was no telling how many tears would fall down her face.

"We saw everything," Ekko started, and the started to stammer Benzos name. "They..."

Vi looked at Kier, and then said, "What about Vander?"

"They took him." Ekko responded under his cries.

"Where?" Vi asked.

Kier was confused, Benzo had died, but Vi didn't even blink an eye.

"Come here K," Vi said opening her arms an Kier hesitantly walked over, and then gave them a hug.

Kier would get her payback, even if it meant war.

Kier was being comforted by Powder as she listened to Mylo, Claggor, and Vi's conversation. The picture of Benzos dead body kept replaying in her head, and she couldn't get it out.

Powder then softly let go of and Kier and she just slumped down more. Her weaps grew but she straightened up after a couple of moments. Vi started packing up stuff to fight, when she was finished she seen Powder doing the same.

Kier walked up to the others and Mylo placed a hand on her shoulder. Kier looked up at him, "I know you're ready." Mylo said, but when he looked at Powder he had a different expression.

"Is it okay Vi?" Kier asked, and Vi nodded her head and smiled. Claggor placed a hand on Kiers shoulder and smiled, and she smiled back.

Vi then looked back at Powder and sighed, "I need you to sit this one out Powder, you're not coming."

"But Kier gets to go, you always say I am as ready as her." Powder said confused.

"This isn't personal, Kier is just more trained and we can rely on her, I don't want you to get hurt, I can't risk losing you Pow." Vi explained softly.

"But you said families stick together, you said it yourself." Powder replied back.

"I know what I said," Vi continued.

"I know I can help," Powder argued.

"You're not ready." Vi shouted sternly, and Powders face dropped and her breathing started to pick up.

Kiers eyes widened and then fell when she seen Powders eyes.

"You and K are all I have left all I have left, I can't lose you." Vi responded softly.

"But you'll risk Kier?" Powder asked.

"She's ready." Vi simply explained before walking out with the rest.

"Here take this," Vi said giving her a small object. "Use this and I'll find you."

"I gotta go Pow, I love you."

Kier stood there and looked at the door, "You coming K?" Mylo asked and she nodded.

Kier walked up to Powder and tried to give her a hug but she was just pushed by the blue hair. "Go," Powder said sharply.
