I woke up, earlier than usual. I never found it easy to get out of bed but today I had something to look forward to, I'm going outside of the wall! I got changed into my favourite outfit, an A-line dress, pastel blue with a white collar, ankle high tie-up cowgirl boots with petite frilly socks that match my dress perfectly. I walked over to the mirror which was on the other side of my room next to my bookshelf, I've always read about the outside world, now its my time to live it. I watched myself in the mirror. my blonde curly hair brushed my elbows, I tied a blue ribbon in it so half of it was pulled up and the rest of it still fell against my back, the ribbon matches my eyes. I looked at my hands, they were shaking, was nervous- but I never felt so determined to do anything.
I waited until it was 7 because that's when the maids start to prepare my breakfast- they would be busy and I don't want anybody to know I was leaving they would stop me, even if it was just for a day.I creeped out of my bedroom pulling a pocket watch off of my desk. I walked out into the gardens turning left at each corridor and right on the last to the back entrance. I acted casual incase any maid would notice me, If I ran they would know I was trying to leave. I walked along side the flower beds checking nobody could see me, until I got to the oak tree. Nobody was watching me, which was unusual but it is also unusual for me to wake up early, my maids would come and wake me up at 8 with food. I started to run through the large field and I didn't stop because they would notice I was gone soon. Once I got to the wall I had to think of a way to get over before the maids realised I wasn't in my room. I had to be quick. I studied the wall looking for a loose stone. none. there seemed to be no possible way out. Frustrated I turned around ready to go back into the castle when I saw a tree, the lower branches looked flimsy but it was going to work, it had to work! I pulled one of the lowest branches towards the floor. If I sat on it the branch would only hold me for at least 5 seconds so I would have to grab the upper branch before it broke. I jumped up onto the end of the branch and managed to crouch on my feet, the wind nearly knocking me off. I paused for a second to breath. As I jumped up and reached for the branch above my head the lower branch snapped, but I was safe as I was firmly gripping onto the more steady branch that stretched further than the wall. I swung my hand in front of the other to move myself along the branch. As I got closer I swung my leg so it would land on top of the wall and continued to shuffle along the branch with my hands, reminding myself not to look down. I was there, I was on the wall, just one more step and I would be free! I looked down at the ground, thoughts started to cloud my mind, will I die? Will I be recognised? What if they try to catch me! I ignored all of them, I had a choice the only way to get down was to jump, either into the gardens or outside the wall. I jumped.
