Preface

I'm Violet Stokes. Before I was born the world had fallen apart. After World War VI, all countries were absolved and the world was separated into 3,000 Sectors. After the new administration took over, the world went downhill quickly. The wars left the land scarred and cities demolished. The administration left so many sick and more than that, left them poor.  Wounded from all sides of the war, were left dying on the field. Some were just too weak from hunger and some were left with mutated limbs or entirely amputated ones. 

Once the war was over and Cato Ranell had taken over things began to calm for a while. People settled into their new lives. Ranell had made a system of sorting people into Sectors. Everybody received their portion of food at the given meal time. Every able-bodied adult (20 years of age up) received a job according to weight, body muscle index and liked subjects. Any adult above 75 has the choice to retire at any time. Ranell's commander-ship lasted for 17 years after the war. In 2182, Mara Nishay overthrew Ranell's leadership. She was a ruthless commander. She created an army. If you were 18-24 you were required to take an aptitude test. The highest scoring were sent to her base for training and from then on you can apply for a small pension after signing your life contract. As the next years went on things got worse for the Abject and the Magnate got more and more cruel.
