I expected a wall to hit me. Instead, I felt nothing, and when I opened my eyes, We were in a workshop. I realized it was Dad's. He never really let me in here. A newer model Mercedes was sitting there. I had never seen it before. My dad always drove a Truck.
"What's going on?" I said while they shoved me through the door behind the driver's seat. They said nothing as they got in themselves. I hadn't noticed the man in the driver's seat until he said something.
"You're not human." He said. His voice was soft. It sounded familiar.
"Who are you?" I snapped. He turned to face me.
"You should recognize your uncle when you see him, right?" he smiled big.
"Uncle Ken?!" I yelled.
He was my uncle on my mother's side, though I hadn't seen him since her funeral. He was one of the only family I had left on my mom's side. He looked like your typical oil rig worker; greasy. He had the signature black hair of my mom's family.
"The one and only. We should go." He said as the door behind us burst open.
In the doorway stood a creature. It stood 7 feet tall, it was pitch black with white swirls around its body, and its eyes were blood red.
"What the fuck is that?!" I yelled.
"GO!!" Skylar was shaking the seat.
The car sped out away from the house. I watched as it caught fire and felt a tear run down my face. My parents were gone.
"Vee," Jason said as he placed a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry."
"i-It's fine. It'll be ok," I said and turned around to face the front of the car.
"Where are we going?"
"A disclosed location. I can't tell you until we're there. We don't know who is listening in."
Uncle Ken turned around to look out of the car. It had felt like a damn hour before we stopped. I still hadn't gotten an explanation.
"Ok. What is going on? I would love an answer instead of being ignored." I said, aggravated.
"When we get inside." they all got out in unison.
As I looked at the building they moved towards, I noticed that it looked like it hadn't been used in many years. I paused to look at it. Hm. Didn't expect it. I caught up to Jason and grabbed his arm.
"It'll be fine." He said and placed his hand on mine.
We walked to the door and got inside. It looked the same as the outside. Skylar walked up to the counter and grabbed something from behind. It was a large brass key.
"What is that key for?" I said, pointing at it.
"This is how we get in." She said and went towards the wall right beside it.
She said something that I didn't hear; a lock slowly appeared. She stuck the key in and turned it. A large wall had proven to be a regular wall, but embedded was a door to a large hotel waiting room.
"C'mon." they all said.
I didn't realize that everyone was already a few feet in front of me. I ran and caught up to them."We had walked into a large room that looked like something from a scary movie. Just way more formal than what you'd expect it to be. Like a high-tech billionaire's lobby to his house. Its colors were black and gold all around the place. Some people didn't seem to look like people. Some had pointed ears, others had gills and fins. I quickly realized what it was."Mermaids aren't real, I thought."I stated, shocked. They all stopped and stared at me."What?""You don't say that around here. Just wait; We'll explain it all soon." Slyvia said. They led me to a room that looked to belong to a giant with the same aesthetic. Then sat me in a chair, told me to wait, and walked off.I sat for hours until they walked back in with a tall man following behind. I stared at the height difference."Olivia Williow?" he had a deep, sultry voice."Y-yes?""My name is Nick." He held out a hand as he sat down. I quickly shook it." I heard that you had some questions."I hadn't noticed that I was stared, gape-mouthed."Umm... Yes, sir," I said, pulling myself out " Where are we? they told me that they would explain everything, but I haven't gotten even a single sentence of it, whatever it is. Is there some convention going on out there cause I saw everyone in costumes? Like some have fish tails, other elf ears, there is a troll looking people, and even very tall people, like extremely tall.." I rambled on."Vee!" Jason called; I shut my mouth and went scarlet."Well, they aren't human out there. For example, I am a giant." He stated proudly. "Have you ever wondered where people get the ideas of all the mythical creatures?" He said as if it were normal."Yes, I have wondered where they had gotten the preposterous idea of mythical beings," I said, putting a hand near my face."Then welcome to Fantasies come true."
