Stark Expo — New York, 2008

Happy had pulled up the car to the front of the Stark Expo, as Natasha, still undercover as Natalie, exited the vehicle and opened the door for Pepper to exit. "I'll keep the car down here, alright?" Happy told Pepper.

"Thank you, Happy," Pepper acknowledged as the two women started for the Expo, just as the announcer blasted the opening performance. "Justin Hammer..." They boomed over the Expo. "His presentation will begin shortly in the main pavilion."

The screen at the presentation read, "Hammer Advanced Weapons System" while the audience cheered for Justin, who marched out jazzily, kicking his legs out with each step and kept shimming towards the audience. "Yeah! That's what I'm talking about!" He applauded their excitement. "Thanks for coming!"

However, both Natasha and Pepper were not bemused by Hammer's dancing routine

However, both Natasha and Pepper were not bemused by Hammer's dancing routine. "Ladies & gentlemen, for far too long, this country has had to place its brave men and women in harm's way," Hammer put his hands on each side of the glass podium. "But then the Iron Man arrived, and we thought the days of losing lives were behind us."

He paused for his own drama, and spoke up again. "Sadly, that technology was kept out of reach. That's not fair, that's not right. And it's just... too bad."

"Oh, lord," Pepper muttered under her breath, as she was still held hostage to Hammer's bogus beliefs.

"Regardless, it was an impressive innovation, one that grabbed the headlines the world over," Hammer dispelled. "Well, today, my friends, the press is faced with quite a difficult problem... they're about to run out of ink."

Applause was scarce after that comment, as two people ran up to remove Hammer's podium. "Ladies and gentleman, today I present to you the new face of the United States military. The Hammer Drone!" Justin announced just as the floor opened up to reveal heavy, larger pieces of tech bigger than the Iron Man suit.

"Army!" Justin yelled as a silo to his right opened up to show drones with a rifle mounted on their left shoulder, all bulked up like army uniforms and bearing the symbol of the United States Military. "Navy!" He yelled next, and as you'd imagine, a set of suits appeared, different than the design of the Army. Two masses were on the shoulders of this armor, and the words "ninety-six" and "NAVY" were imprinted on their torsos. "Air Force!" Justin pointed to the front, as more drones were lifted up. "Marines!" He announced the final set of drones, rising up with their distinct features. "That's a hell of a lot more than some cheerleaders, let me tell you."

"But as revolutionary as this technology is, there will always be a need for a man to be present in the theater of war," Justin spoke up again, just as annoying.
