Miku's POV:
I walk home, confused as to what Rin could possibly be running away for. Too bad her brother's clueless, too. Eh, maybe she just had to go to the bathroom really bad.

Rin is all that's on my mind as I walk home and enter my house. She's such an amazing friend! If I were a boy, I would definitely want to be her boyfriend.
....what's preventing me from being her girlfriend, though....

I quickly shake away that random thought as I set my stuff on my desk. I have some pretty cool music ideas, so I quickly text Rin about them.

Miku: 'Hey, Rin! I have some cool music ideas, let's hang out soon!'

Rin: 'sounds good!'

"Miku, dear!" I hear my mom call, "I have something that I want to talk to you about!" It can't be that serious.

I go over to my mom, wondering what she could possibly want to talk to me about. "Hey, dear, you know your friend Rin?"

"Yeah, of course mom, we've been friends since we were 5!"

"Well, she's a horrible influence. You need to stop hanging around her."
My heart sinks as I hear those horrible words. This has to be a joke. There's no way that this is actually real.

I laugh it off, thinking of it as a joke. "Heh, funny joke, mom! Whew, that's hilarious!"

"Darling, you have to see the signs that I'm seeing! Blonde hair, pranks her brother, plays electric guitar, I mean, come on!" My mom complains.

Why does she see those as red flags? Why does she think of Rin as a bad influence, despite us being amazing friends for so long? Questions flood my mind, I feel myself slip into a panic attack.

Trying to hide how I truly feel, I play it off with my mom and go back into my room. I start to cry. Tears flood my eyes as I text Rin, my only means of support. That support is slipping away from my fingers.

Miku: 'Hey Rin, about that, my mom just said that we can't hang out anymore. She thinks of you as a bad influence. What do I do?'

Rin: 'You're pretty late to April fools, lol'

Miku: 'I can't believe it either, Rin. I'm so sorry!'

Rin: 'Oh, it's real, huh? Well, we can still hang out at school n stuff. Your mom doesn't have to know."

At that moment, Rin came up with the best idea that I've ever heard in my entire life.

My mom doesn't have to know.
