I look at my tall black Friesian horse and begin to braid his mane. My phone loudly rings out into the silent air and the other workers look at me.

"Fuck this shit I am out." plays loudly into the air and I ignore it. I know who is calling as he has been calling for the past couple of days.

I don't know why he is calling as he hasn't in a few years when I moved away and down to Texas. Nyx looks at me and nudges for my hand to answer it. A small smile plays on my lips as the ringtone dies out and silence fills the air again. I continue to braid his hair until my phone rings again. I groan and see that the other workers are getting annoyed with it to. I sigh as I reach into my back pocket and answer the call brining it to my ear.

"I thought I told you to never call me unless dad is on his death bead?" I question before he can even begin to speak

He is silent.

"I think dad is going down a spiral again sister."

"Never call me that again. You lost that privilege awhile go brother." I spat out like the word itself is poison

"Look not the time we need you up here." He says growing frustrated "You are the closest thing we have to her."

I sigh as I hear his plead. He his right though. Besides my brown hair everyone I know always said I was an exact replica of my mother in everyway possible. Well besides my attitude. I never got to meet my mom.

"-Ven... Raven?" I hear him call out questioningly

"I'm here. Give me three days tops." I answer and hang up giving him no time to answer

I pat Nyx back into his stall before heading to the main office. Now you may be wondering where I work and it's called The Four Sixes or The 6666. I knock on the door to my bosses office and he grants me permission to enter.

"I quit sir." I state putting my belt buckle and hat on his desk

"What why?" He questions

"I am going to work for my father he needs help with some stuff and I don't know when I'll be back sir." I answer as I stand their with my hands behind my back and chin up

"But you're my best rider." He whines and I have to keep myself from laughing

"Sorry sir, but I have to. Please just keep an eye on her until i can come and get her." And with that I leave, I leave him in the office, I leave the people I have found refuge in four the last three years.

I pack up Nyx in my trailer and pack my truck with all of my belongings. People bombard me with questions but they go unanswered as I myself don't even now why I am doing this. Maybe because I miss Dad, Beth, Lee and Kayce, but I know for a damn fact that it's not because I miss Jamie. I take one last look around and smile. I will not miss the heat. I hop in my truck and begin the long drive back home.
