A few days after I heard the noise I had forgotten it. I decided to go to the market. Before I left home I got a clay pot, some blueberries, and a clay jar to trade. I set the items in my basket and walked to the market.

There was noise all over, a sweet smell of treats baking, the calming scent of herbs, it is an amazing place to go.
I walked over to the clothing booth and shopped around.

"May I have those blue mittens, green gloves, and yellow hat? I will give you these berries for it."
I looked at Edna, the woman who knits clothes, and gave her an offer

"Yes dear fair trade to me. Pick em'
your self?"

"Yes ma'am." We talked for a few minutes and then I gave her the berries and set the mittens and gloves in my basket and walked over to the live stock booth and looked around ther was a white chicken in a bamboo cage near the corner it had black freckles and a yellow beak.

"What for the white chicken? Is she laying?" I asked just for info

"Yes she has great eggs to I will take that pot for her and the cage"

We agreed on a deal and I headed home. Right when I reached the door the village messenger rode in on his white flea bitten coat horse. He stopped by the central fire and put the cover over it to put it out.

"The village is in danger or will be in danger! Some outsiders have been spotted and may invade!"

I ran in side and set my basket on the shelf and walked into the other room Dakota was asleep so I passed quietly on the deck outside was my mother. She had a look of shock. When I asked what we would do she said "We leave when the village does. Pack your things in bags and crates and be ready to go." I obeyed and packed up. I set my bags and boxes in the back room.

Later we had a lovely stir fry for dinner and I feed and groomed my animals. I also let my chicken in with the others and then scratched for a bit and roosted. I went back in and folded some clothes and got sleepy.

The back room was dim and Dakota was sleeping. I put on my blue and white night gown and nestled in bed. The cotton blanket was up to my face and very warm. Which made me go to sleep without even remembering that I had so much to worry about.
