" There is an army of people who where spotted on the northern plains. It's possible we will have to leave"
My mother said these words really gently and quietly.
" Where is daddy are they at war?" Dina and I both asked
"No but they are watching them."
I was really scared. What if they went to war and daddy never came back?
Soon we got back to what we where doing.Apparently Dina took the bird to the healer that morning because it was in its cage with a green herb band around its wing and ointment oozing out. There was a loaf of bread on the table in the corner with a few clay jars and pots scattered around it. I opened a jar and spread blue berry preserves over a bread piece. Pretty sure I was staying inside today. There was a large cloud overhead and I didn't want to get in the middle of something and then have it rain. I finished the bread and did some laundry outside. The soap started to run out so I knew I would need to get another bar, ugh. At least I could run in the house in the middle of this chore.
Night time came came soon and that cloud had blocked the sun out most of the day so it was really cold. I covered the bird cage in fur and blankets and hoped it would stay warm. I kept my bird close and turned out the lamp. Slowly I closed my eyes and we all fell asleep.
Morning was the same as usual. We got up to the smell of the camp making bread and a few rounds of flat bread. I fed my bird and Dina and I went to the market and got a loaf of bread, a round of flat bread, and a few cuts of meat. We gathered eggs and began to make breakfast. Something of an omlet I guess. Dina and I ate quickley and walked to the pony we had tied up last night and fed her. Her coat was as white as sheep wool with the exception of her black spots and gray mane.
Nothin' happening today...
