Chapter Four

"FREEZE CHEESE!" I yell walking up. He looks kinda shocked to see me, probably just thought I would lay back and let him take my title! HA! Not me, I will stand up to him!

"I challenge you too..." I look around and smile, "A GOOF OFF!" Everyone gasps and star whispering.

Cheese then glares at me before saying, "This Cheese has stood alone for a long time Pinkie Pie. Are you sure you can out goof me?"

I scoffed at his remark, "Oh I don't think so. I KNOW so! And the stakes are high Cheese! Whoever wins will be dubbed the ultimate super duper party pony and headline the Rainbow Dash birthaversery!"

"And the loser!?" Twilight asked shocked.

I narrowed my eyes as I said, "Doesn't."

Everyone gasped and some even fainted, "So are you in Cheese?" I asked before walking up to him and poking him and saying, "Or are you boneless?"

He seemed shocked and angry, "Nopony calls me boneless!" He then turned to the rubber chicken on his back, "Right Boneless?"

"Then the goof off is on for high noon!" I rose my hoof up into the air before Twilight corrected me saying it was 3 o'clock, "Oh. Then make it 3:10 to goof off!!" 

I then had to mentally prepare myself for the goof off. "Gummy! I need you to help me in my goof off!" He just blinked in response, "Hmmm... It's so crazy it just may work!"

Preparing for the goof off I gathered everything I could, preparing for her battle with Cheese.

I walked towards the crowd of ponies that gathered to see me and Cheese's fight. I dressed as a cowboy, it seemed appropriate for this kind of duel. As a neared the crowed I started to walk like one too, get in the right mindset.

Just your typical goof off. With the pony you have a crush on... That you also hate. Nothing out of the norm. You can do this. You GOT THIS!

 I walk into the crowd as they part away for me. And as if we were in sync Cheese Sandwich walked in at the same time.

He was also dressed as a cowboy, if they wore stuffed animals for clothes.

Twilight then walked up in between us with a book in front of her face. 

"Alright everypony. According to the official goof rule book, The two competitors have free range to goof about" Twilight explained the rules as Cheese and I briefly demonstrated how goofy we can be, "Rainbow Dash, since the winner will be headlining your party, you are the judge."

Rainbow laughed nervously she looked like she didn't want to do this. Well I don't care WHAT she wants- well actually I do care. I care a lot, that's why I'm doing this. Kinda? I need to prove that I'M the super duper party pony. That I can throw the best party! Not Cheese- ME!

I glare at Cheese and smirk as I get ready to unleash my plan.

"Cheese Sandwich? Pinkie Pie? Are you ready" Twilight asked, glancing at both of us. 

I scoffed, "I was born ready"

Cheese's eyes narrowed and he said, "I was ready BEFORE I was born" 

Twilight smiled as she said, "Then... Let the goofing begin!" She then flew back into the crowd.

Cheese hops onto a ball and balances on it as he juggles for Rainbow Dash. 

I grin as I hop on my own ball and start juggling my rubber chicken, I then start singing, "It's your birthday party, a very special day! I got a song, it won't take long I just wanted to say, " I continue to sing and preform tricks as I see from the corner of my eye Cheese glare. 

He then starts to sing his own verse, trying to steal my idea eh!? Well I'll show you! After a few tricks I decide it's time to pull out the big pinata. 

But sadly my plan backfired... I was so caught up in beating Cheese, I didn't even realize the pinata had fallen. And on top of Rainbow! Oh god I'm such a terrible friend.

"I broke my Pinkie Party Promise.." I mutter to myself in disbelief, "STOOOP! THE GOOF OFF, IS OFF!" I yell. 

Rainbow looked up from under the pinata confused, "But I haven't even chosen a winner"

"You don't have to.. I- I forfeit. Which means..." I looked over to Cheese with sad eyes and back down to the ground, "Cheese wins..." A tear rolled down my cheek. 

Cheese laughed a bit, but then let out a small, "Oh," and sighed, "I do?"

"Yes," I looked up at him again, "You get to headline Rainbow Dash's party..."

Twilight said in a soft voice, "But, what about you Pinkie?"

"I- I... don't" I said letting my head fall back to the ground, another tear fell down. Everyone gasped. 

Everyone then started to leave, everyone except Zecora and Cheese. I sad down on the ground and thought about everything that has happened. I just potentially ruined one of my best friends birthday, all for what? Prove some colt wrong? I don't even know..

I start to sniffle as I think about how Cheese beat me, he won. He's the super duper party pony now, not me.

All of a sudden I feel a hoof touch my shoulder. I look up to see Zecora, she gestured her head over to Cheese. I saw a frown on his face with his ears laid back. But the moment tour eyes made contact he turned and ran away.

"I don't get it..." I sniffed, "He seems so sad, then ran away.. Why?" I asked confused, my eyes puffy and red from crying. 

Zecora gave me a sympathetic look, like a mother would to her child, "Do not fret, he will be back soon yet" 

"Of course he will- he has to headline her party. He has to take over my job." I look back down, "Thanks Zecora..." I gave her a small smile and stood back up.

"Now if you excuse me, I have to go back to my tree." She started to turn around to leave but I guess she could see my feelings haven't really been swayed. She sighed and said without the rhyme, "Try to be happy Pinkie, Cheese wouldn't want to see you like this. Neither would your friends. It just makes them sad." She then walked back home to the Everfree forest. 

Her saying that made me blush a little, Cheese would be sad seeing me sad? I wonder...

I then headed back home to Sugar Cube Corner.
