I walked out of my office on a late Friday night just wanting to go home and snuggle into my bed after a long day. As I left I changed my heels into more comfortable shoes since the walk to the parking lot wasn't as close as I wished it was. As I approached my car I heard the sounds of pissed off men and yelling. My curiosity took the best of me so instead of going straight into my car I peeked into the dark alley where I saw two guys beating each other up. One of the guys had this beautiful olive skin and charcoal hair. Something about him made me want to approach them. The other guy was brunette and was currently beating the shit out of the other guy. He had him pinned up against the wall while throwing punches at his face and gut. Both their faces were covered in blood and I'm no doctor, but it seemed like they were going to be needing stiches. They both looked extremely drunk and by the looks of it this fight wasn't going to stop anytime soon. So I decided to intervene before the charcoal haired boy got his ass kicked. I marched right up to them and then I realized maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

"Hey! Stop fighting!" I yelled, then realizing he probably wasn't going to listen to a girl anyway. Come to think of it that was the lamest attempt to end a fight.

"Or else what? You're gonna call my mommy?" The brunette laughed before throwing another punch as the charcoal hair boy grunted in pain. He squeezed his eyes shut trying not show in how much pain he really was. He threw a punch back as the brunette was still turned to me.

"Y- Well, no. But get your hands off of him right now." I tried a bit more aggressively but the brunette just laughed it off again.

"You have two fucking seconds to get your hands off of him, the cops are on their way already and by the look of it you don't seem to exactly have the greatest record with them." This time his eyes widened and he let go of the boy.

"You'll fucking pay for this Malik. Don't think this is over," he spat as he ran off in the other direction. I smiled to myself knowing I just interrupted my first fight. One of many I soon learned.

I looked down at the raven haired boy as he was struggling to get himself up. His face and knuckles were covered in blood so I assumed he got a few good hits as well.

"Are you okay?" I asked kneeling down next to him.

"I'm fine. I didn't need you to fucking intervene, I could've fucking handled him on my own." He slurred clearly giving away he was intoxicated.

"You know most people thank others once they get them out of trouble but it's fine! I didn't just save your ass or anything." I replied sarcastically. What was his issue?

"Well then I guess I'm not like most people. Like I said I didn't need your help." He pushed himself up and I couldn't help but look at the way his muscles bulged.

"I'll remind myself next time I see someone getting their ass kicked to just stay out of it. Listen even if you supposedly were handling it, the cops would've came sooner or later and you would've been arrested."

"Yeah, whatever." He started walking away, but ended up stumbling into the dumpster again showing he's not even close to being sober.

"Okay obviously you're not stable enough to take care of yourself tonight so follow me." I sighed as I grabbed his hand. The moment our hands touched it gave me instant butterflies but I chose to ignore it since it was late and I was tired.

"I don't need some fucking babysitter alright?" He spat.

"You have too much pride, dear god just take some help okay?" I rolled my eyes at how ridiculous he was being right now.

"Fine." He slurred as I dragged him to my car.

"So do you want to at least tell me your name?" I asked so I didn't have to keep referring to him as the charcoal haired boy.

"You don't know me?" He asked, slightly shocked.

"No should I?"

"No," he chuckled, "I'm Zayn. You are?"

"I'm Ava."

"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." He smirked. I couldn't help but blush a little.

"Anyway do you know where you live?"

"To be honest at the moment I don't have a single clue," he laughed. His laugh was one that brought you happiness just listening to it.

"Alright, I guess you're coming home with me tonight."

"I could be some murderer or rapist or who knows what and you're just bringing me home? Have you not learned stranger danger? I mean I don't mind you're hot and all, but I'm semi scared for your everyday safety if you think breaking up alley fights at midnight and taking strangers home is okay" he said as he wiped the blood off of his face with his sleeve.

"You don't seem like you're going to kill me so we're good. Plus if I just left you out there who knows what kind of trouble you would've gotten yourself into. I'm doing good for the community." He once again gave me a small chuckle before resting his head against the window. I watched his eyes slowly flutter shut while I continued to drive us home. Little did I know this was going to the first of many car rides with him.
