I put on a flattering black and white polka dot sundress as I prepared for dinner with Zayn. I realized that I had to step up my game in order to keep this bet ongoing and for him to continue to be interested in me. I couldn't go with my usual "I just rolled out of bed' look, otherwise he'd be fleeing fast. Since the restaurant was only a block from my flat, I told Zayn it wasn't necessary for him to pick me and I would just meet him there instead. As I took a stroll around London, I couldn't help but admire its beauty. My favorite thing about this city was the fact that it was always alive. Everywhere you went it was crawling with people, even when it was pouring rain out. People were always walking from shop to shop even in the late hours, and that's something that I admired a lot. I was always one who loved having excitement surrounding me so that's why this city was more than perfect for me. As I broke away from my thoughts I realized I had reached my designated destination for the night. It was a beautiful run down Mexican restaurant, that had lights everywhere and live music so loud it made you just want to dance right on the spot. It wasn't some grand, fancy restaurant but a rather comfortably and homey type feel. As I entered inside I saw Zayn sitting down, eyes wandering towards the door every few seconds. The moment he saw me his face lit up and he immediately welcomed me with a warm smile. It was hard to deny the fact that I felt a little flutter in my stomach, but I reminded myself of what an arse he was and that I had a year of free drinks on the line.
Instead of hugging and greeting him with the same warm smile like I had originally intended I just stated a simple hello which did in fact cause him to raise an eyebrow in surprise.
"Are you okay?" He asked slightly taken aback by my simple greeting.
"Im fine, couldn't be better." I stated, as he scratched the back of his neck trying to figure out what was currently happening.
"Alright," he stated rather unsure of himself and the direction of this date now, "let's get some food, yeah?" I nodded my head as he went to the stand to ask for a table for two. As we were lead to our table I couldn't help but notice some stares and hushed whispers as we passed by people. I'm assuming it was about Zayn and the question of who his new fling was. It surprised me how well known he was around here, that was something I definitely underestimated.
"So what're you thinking of getting?" He asked as we sat down.
"Probably the tacos, that's something you can never go wrong with. What about you?"
"Definitely the empanadas, they're to die for here. It's like heaven in your mouth, no it's like the best orgasm you've ever had in your mouth. " He described and I couldn't help but laugh a little. His face just showed how excited he was to devour his empanada and the idea was just so funny to me. I cracked another smile as I thought about it, until I reminded myself he was a lying arse. I quickly put on a serious face not allowing him to think he was all that great. It was a lot harder to be mad at him than I thought.
"Are you sure you're okay? You seem a little off tonight." He asked after our waiter had taken our order and left.
"Yeah I'm fine."
"Urgh, alright. So what's new, uh, new?" He asked nervously like he didn't know if that was a good question to ask.
I rolled my eyes, "are we back to year 8 and the awkward texting conversations when gals still had cooties?" I asked and he chuckled.
"Theres' the sarcastic Ava I know, and don't love." Zayn smirked and I rolled my eyes at what an ass he was.
"You sure are an arse y'know?"
"Don't worry babe, I know. I've been told." He teased, poking his tongue out.
"By everyone? Because that wouldn't surprise me." I replied back.
