The Monday after the events of the Quidditch World Cup was when the students were due back at hogwarts. Amare was running around her room checking for anything she could forget. Her trunk had an extender spell so she could bring as much as she wanted.
Amare's room had mostly black, green and gold accents to everything though the main colour was green. The rest of her house was mostly a dark burgundy since her family were mostly Gryffindor. Her father was overjoyed when she was placed in Slytherin so that he could shop for something other than red. She had been worried slightly about how her father would react to her house but then remembered how he really didn't give a damn.
Amare's trunk was placed on her bed, with nothing organized in it. She did claim the extender charm for for more stuff, the little bed extension she added was an after thought but Cedric didn't believe her.
Amare had put most of her closet in the trunk along with all of her books. She had even put her easel in with a sack of paints and brushes. The object that she had packed most carefully was her broom, it was a custom made specially to fit her flying style.
A knock sounded at Amare's door. It was covered with small paintings but at the centre was a painting of her, normally she hated seeing her portrait but the way she did it was good.
Ken Mortuus opened the door holding a clothing bag. "Now I know you love to pick things out yourself but just this once I thought I might add a little something" Ken said sheepishly as held his arm out in the hallway so she couldn't see what he was holding.
"Oh what did you do" Amare said sarcastically, her internal comic book character was imagining peeking at whatever he had.
"I know you've already packed your dress robes but since I know what's happening at school this year, this might be better" Ken said pulling a his arm into the room, in his hand was a robes bag, he handed it to her bursting with glee. Her mothers name was embroidered on the bag so she figured it was her mothers dress robes.
Amare eyes softened, she always loved receiving her mothers clothes, for a dead person she had good taste.
Her father handed it to her and she slowly unzipped it not wanting to snag the fabric. She could she silk fabric leaking out and her brain set off internal fireworks, she loved silk.
"You can alter how you wish cause I know the colour isn't really you and also if the size is a bit off other than that I hope you enjoy i will be down stairs." Ken said making his way out and closing the door softly.
The dress was red, long and flowing, with long sleeves. It had a bustier top with gold roses lining the bones. Amare wanted to try it on immediately but was already short on time. She decided the second she was back in her dorm she would put it on.
Amare carefully put it back into to its original hanger bag and then into her trunk. She hoped nothing would get rattled she had made sure that her spell would make nothing move around but it still worried her.
She ran around and grabbed a few last minute things, she has almost left her history textbook in the trash but thankfully remembered it. She threw a few extra socks in her trunk and was finally ready.
She was in a simple pair of black pants and a loose black button up, the only part of the Hogwarts uniform was a robe so she didn't have much else to worry about.
As she did the latches she turned to look around her room, she loved her room. Amare had said goodbye to her room many times but this time felt different almost like it was the last time.
