Rebecca never looked back to see what happened behind her as she left. The only worries she had, was getting them to a safe place, and 2, hoping Matthews family didn't get involved because she didn't have enough money or the time to deal with them. Rebecca had drove all night. By the time she got out of Matthew's neighborhood, it was 3 am, and now it was 8am.The mother daughter duo were currently sitting inside a booth at a breakfast bar. Rebecca needed a coffee since she hadn't slept, and Saylor was wanting pancakes, so Rebecca decided to stop so that they could rest and eat.
Rebecca turned her head from the window and looked down at her daughter who was eating happily. Rebecca smiled, "Is that good?"
Saylor nodded and kicked her little feet happily. "It yummy!" Rebecca chuckled and rubbed some syrup of of Saylor's nose. "Where we going to stay Mama?"
Rebecca's smile turned into a frown. She looked out of the window watching a young couple walk in, then back at her daughter. "I'm not for sure right now, but i promise mama will get us somewhere safe ok?" Saylor smiled up at her mother. "Are you happy to be away from Matthew?"
Rebecca was curious about what her daughter was thinking, and she was hoping she felt the same way she did. "Yeah! I happy to be with you mommy!"
Rebecca smiled down at her daughter and let her finish eating. Once Saylor was done Rebecca cleaned her off with a napkin then grabbed her hand to go back to the car. She put Saylor in her car seat then drove off once again.
As she was driving she got a phone call from Colby. She hesitated to pick up but she didn't want him to worry. She tapped the button, "Hello?"
She heard shuffling on the other end. "Becks? Hey, where are you?" Colby paused for a second before continuing. "Pam called and said Matthew is looking for you. She said, that he said, you ran away...is that true?"
Rebecca opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. "Hi C!" Saylor said from the back seat.
Colby chuckled. "Hey Say! What are you and mama doing huh?"
Saylor laughed. "We just eat. We had pancakes!"
"You just had pancakes? That sounds yummy, where's your mama?"
Rebecca smiled to her self, "She's driving right now."
Colby nodded at Rebecca's words. "Ok, are you safe Becks? Just let me know something...please? Pam and me are worried, she tried to call but it didn't go through. "Did you actually run away?"
Rebecca waited a few seconds before replying. "Yeah...yeah i did." She heard Colby sit down on his couch. "I didn't know what else to do Colby, i had to get away from him."
"No, it's ok Becks. I'm happy you're away from him." Rebecca nodded at his words and teared up. "Did he hurt you again?"
"Yeah." She heard Colby curse under his breath.
"I swear i'm gonna kill him." Colby shook his head and ran his hand through his hair. "Where are you?"
Rebecca looked at her surroundings to make sure she told him correctly. "We just passed City hall."
Colby nodded and muttered something under his breath. "Have you got somewhere to stay? And be honest, don't lie to me..."
Rebecca cleared her throat. "Well...uhm..."
"Becks i'm being serious. Do you have somewhere to stay?"
Rebecca sighed. "No. I was just going to go to a shelter or something. I don't want to barge in on other people."
"Rebecca Quin. Turn your car around and come back to my place." Colby stood up and started walking.
"Colby i don't want to be a burden! You have a life you can't just-"
"Becks, please? You and Saylor need a place to stay, and i would love to have you two here. I have a guest room, or you can just sleep in my bed and i can sleep on the couch. It doesn't matter, i just want you here."
Rebecca smiled at Colby's words. "I wanna stay with C!" Saylor exclaimed in the back. "Mama can we stay with C?!"
Colby laughed on the other side of the phone. "See, even Saylor wants to." They heard a dog bark in the background. "Even Kevin wants you to stay."
Rebecca pulled off on the side of the road so she could talk to him better. "Colby, i appreciate it, i do, but i don't-"
"Rebecca please! I told you, no i promised you i would always be there for you two. And right now you need me. I promise it's ok for you to stay! I'll clean up the guest bedroom and that's where you can stay until we clean up the other guest room. Then Saylor can have a room! And then we could turn my game room into a play room for her and-"
"Colby you don't have to get her a room, she can sleep with me. And you love your game room so-"
"Yeah i do, but i love you two more!" He exclaimed. "Now come on, i'll leave my porch light on and i'll clean up the bedroom ok? She has some clothes and she had tons of toys over here, and we can always go shopping for stuff that you both need."
Rebecca wiped at a tear that slipped from her eye. "Are you sure about this Colby? I can just stay with Ash when she gets back."
"Rebecca i promise i'm ok with it! I've lived alone for years now so it will be fun to have some company." Colby chuckled.
"Yeah but if we came over there we would be staying for a while..." Rebecca sighed.
"Becks, you two can stay as long as you want to. Hell, you could move in, i don't care." Colby sat back down on his couch once again. "Just let me help..."
Rebecca laid her head on the steering wheel. She needed a safe place for them to go, and her best friend was offering to help. Colby promised to help her, and she never would let him fulfill his word, so this was the time to finally let him help.
Rebecca sat back up and sighed. "Ok. I'll turn around ok?"
She heard Colby chuckle excitedly. Rebecca laughed to herself. "Ok! I'll be waiting for you ok?"
Rebecca then nodded and hung up the phone. She looked back at Saylor and seen a huge smile plastered on her daughter's face and smiled. "We staying with C!" Saylor yelled.
Rebecca smiled before starting up the car. "Yeah...we're staying with C."
