It was over. It was finally over. No more running from the monster Rebecca once loved. No more running away from all of her problems. No more worrying about Matthew. The trial was closed, and Matthew was going to spend the next 6 years in prison. He lost all parenting rights to Saylor, and now Rebecca and Colby could give that little girl the best life possible and best kind of love. When the jury hit the gavel, Rebecca let all of her emotions out. She doubled over crying and smiling while Ashley and Mercedes gave her a hug. "You did it!" Ashley sang kissing Rebecca's cheeks as she sat up.
Rebecca stood up and hugged Ashley tight. "Thank you so much. Both of you." She then turned around and hugged Mercedes.
Once the two girls stepped aside Colby dropped Saylor to the ground so she could run to her mother. "Mommy!"
Rebecca smiled and scooped her up into a big hug. "My baby..." She said into Saylor's hair. Rebecca stood back up with Saylor still in her arms. "Mommy won Say!"
Saylor smiled and patted Rebecca's cheek. "Yay!" She said clapping her hands. "Does that mean I get to stay with you?"
Rebecca nodded and kissed Saylor's cheek. "Yeah! You don't have to be around Matthew anymore! You get to stay with me and C!"
Saylor squealed and giggled. Colby was walking over and Rebecca sat Saylor down so she could talk to her aunts. Colby walked up and pulled Rebecca into a hug. He swung her around before sitting her back on her feet. "You did it love. Just like I told you."
Rebecca smiled and connected their lips wrapping her hand into his hair. "We did it Colby..."
When Colby nodded he pulled her back in for another kiss. "I love you."
Rebecca smiled and rested her forehead against his. "I love you more."
. . . . . . . . .
Colby walked up the stairs and seen his girlfriend trying to put a bed together. It had been three weeks since the trail ended, and the little family couldn't be any happier. She had her hair pulled up into a messy bun, and had overalls—which were covered with paint—on. He watched as she struggled trying to screw two pieces together, before he walked in to Saylor's new princess themed room. "Ah finally. I need help if you can't tell." Rebecca said laughing.
Colby chuckled and ruffled her hair before sitting down beside her on the floor. "I guess it's a good thing I'm your knight in shining armor then." He said taking the screws and putting them into the bed frame.
Rebecca laughed at his joke as she watched him work on the bed. "It's pretty true ya know." When he looked over at her she continued. "You saved me from Matthew...and now you're saving me from ruining Saylor's bed."
Colby chuckled and leaned over to kiss her. "I have this side done." Rebecca nodded and stood up and walked over to Saylor's dresser. He saw her pull out a pick sparkly curtain. "Is that the canopy?"
Rebecca nodded and pulled it out of its packaging. "Yeah. I thought the pink would look good with the white." Colby stood up and walked over to her, helping her put the canopy up.
A few hours later the two had it done. When Rebecca and Saylor had first moved in, Colby told Saylor she could have her own room, and he couldn't wait to show the little girl her new room.
He sat in the living room with Saylor as she ran around playing. Rebecca was putting some decorations up in her room, so Colby was keeping Saylor downstairs. "Can you hold my crown?" She asked holding her tiara out to Colby.
Colby smiled and gently took it from her. Saylor ran a hand over her face, making sure she had pushed all her hair out of the way. She then adjusted her purple and pink princess dress she had on. Colby laughed as he watched her. "Say, do you need me to help?"
Saylor nodded and reached up for him. He adjusted her dress for her before putting the tiara back on her head. "There ya go princess." He kissed her forehead before sitting back down.
Saylor then ran off chasing Kevin. She had stuck a toy to Kevins leash so that he could look like a dragon. She had chased him around the house—losing him a few times—acting like she was slaying a dragon.
"Ok! I'm ready when you are!" Rebecca called out from upstairs.
Saylor stopped running and took Colby's hand as he stood up. "Yay! My surprise!"
Colby chuckled as he lead Saylor into her new room. "Ok, you ready baby?" Colby said from in front of the closed door.
Rebecca opened up the door and as soon as Saylor's eyes seen her new room her face lit up like a Christmas tree. "WOAH!" She yelled running through her room.
Rebecca smiled while Colby walked into the room and wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin in her shoulder. "Do you like it?" Rebecca asked resting her arms on Colby's.
Saylor smiled and giggled jumping up and down. "Yeah! I love it!" She then ran over and jumped into Rebecca's arms. Colby stepped back smiling before Saylor motioned for him to join in on the hug. "I love it so much! Thank you mommy and daddy!"
Colby's breath hitched as he heard her, Rebecca's did too. "Your welcome little love." Colby said kissing her cheek. Saylor smiled and ran over to her barbie doll house. When Rebecca and Colby stood back up, Rebecca smiled at him. "What?"
Rebecca shrugged smiling up at him. "How does it feel to be a daddy now?" She asked wrapping her arms around his waist.
Colby smiled and connected their lips, wrapping his arms around her waist. "It's the best feeling in the world."
And it was. Over the past few years Rebecca had to suffer. She went through hell staying in the same house as Matthew, but now he was gone, and she knew she would never have to suffer alone again. Now that she had Colby, she knew she was going to have the best life possible. Because it's Rebecca, Colby, and Saylor against the world.
