After the incident that happened between Rebecca and Colby, the two went back to class to teach, but their minds wouldn't stop thinking about one another. They had been best friends for years, and they loved each other, so why couldn't they give it a shot. Colby loved her and Saylor more than anything, but Rebecca didn't want to admit that her feelings were becoming stronger the more she's around him. She wanted,so badly, to kiss him when they both leaned into each other's touch, but that bell ruined it for them. But she also didn't want to pressure him into liking her. She knew her and Saylor were a lot to handle, at least that's what Matthew told her, but now that they were living with Colby, she didn't want him to feel like he had to date her.
The final bell rang distracting Rebecca from her thoughts, so she opened the door and watched as the students left. She went back over to her desk and bent down to grab her purse and when she stood back up Matthew was in the doorway. Rebecca yelped and dropped her bag to the floor as Matthew came on in and locked the door. "Hey."
Rebecca started breathing heavy. She started wondering if he brought any weapons with him, she started wondering if he came there to beat her up in a locked classroom so no one could get to her. A million thoughts ran through her head as he stepped forward. She didn't want to deal with him right now, she wanted to go home. "Uhm... what are you doing?" She held a hand out for him to stop walking, and thankfully he did.
He smiled at her sympathetically. "I just wanted to talk...about us and what went down."
"There's nothing to talk about. There is no us, me and Saylor are long out of your life." She bent down to pick up her purse and laid it on the desk.
Matthew sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. "Look... Becks-"
"Matthew I don't want to see you! What part don't you get?!" She exclaimed.
"Rebecca i just want to apologize." His words made her face scrunch up in a confused look.
"Apologize?" Rebecca crossed her arms over her chest. "So let me get this straight, for the past 2 years you have beaten me and abused me, and have NEVER said an "I'm sorry", but now that your ex girlfriend and her daughter is gone you want to apologize for everything you've done?"
Matthew teared up and stuck his hands in his back pockets. "I know. That's a shitty thing to do but I miss you Becks...I miss Saylor too. Can you please just come home? I miss you love."
Rebecca let a tear slip down her face, and she wiped at it angrily. "You've never gave a damn about me or Saylor so don't try now. I've got a home, and that's away from you. And don't call me love. You lost the right to use that."
Matthew came closer while Rebecca stepped away. "Get out! I don't want to see you ever again!" She screamed.
"Rebecca i just want to-"
A loud bang is what separated them apart. And when Matthew looked around, Colby and Pam were standing at the door. "I don't know what the fuck you think you're doing, but if you don't move away from her I'll make sure you never fucking walk again!" Colby yelled.
Colby walked past him staring him down as he did, and went over to Rebecca while Matthew was escorted, more like pushed, out by Pam. Colby wrapped her up in his arms and left soft kisses on her head. "You're ok. I've got you." He whispered softly.
Rebecca wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her head more into his chest, listening to his heartbeat. They stayed like that for a minute, Colby just letting her catch her breath and calm down.
Pam walked back in and seen that Colby had her, so she waved to Rebecca to let her know she was going to make sure Matthew left. Colby stepped back and rubbed some hair out of her face, before rubbing his thumb across her cheeks. "What did he say to you?"
Rebecca nuzzled into his touch. "He said he wanted to apologize, but he didn't even say sorry. He wanted me and Saylor to move back in with him."
Colby nodded and leaned down to kiss her forehead. "He didn't touch you did he?"
Rebecca shook her head. "No, you stopped him before he did."
Colby nodded once again and pulled Rebecca back into another hug. "I'm sorry I couldn't stop him from coming in here. I didn't know he was here until I heard you scream. I'm so sorry Becks."
Rebecca turned her head and kissed his chest. "You did nothing wrong Colby. It's not your fault. Thank you for helping me..."
Colby kissed the top of her head before pulling back and kissing her forehead once again. The two stared at each other while Colby wiped her tears away. Rebecca sniffled and looked up at him before crashing her lips onto his. As soon as her lips touched his though, she pulled back stammering. "I- I'm so sorry! I didn't m-"
But Colby cut her off with another kiss. He wrapped his hand behind her neck, deepening the kiss. Rebecca wrapped her arms around his neck, wanting to melt onto him, but before the two started going on even further, Rebecca pulled back and stared at him. "Im sorry I shouldn't have done that."
Colby shook his head and let go of her arm as she stepped back. "No it's ok Becks..."
Rebecca just faked cough and started walking back to her desk. "Uhm...yeah...I-" She grabbed her purse and her phone before looking back up at him. "I'm... we should pick up Saylor."
Colby nodded and grabbed his keys. "Yeah yeah. Of course." The two looked at each other before Rebecca looked at the clock on the wall trying not to make eye contact with him. "We should uhm...go."
Rebecca followed Colby out to his car while they picked up Saylor. The car ride to Mercedes house was silent, so silent they could hear each other's breath hitching when they looked at each other. Rebecca didn't regret starting the kiss, and Colby didn't regret continuing it, but they both regretted not being brave enough to finish it.
