Chapter 16: "After"

???: He is monster, I'm telling you that!

The unknown vampire told Harold.

Harold: And I thought you were the monsters! You three scare anybody off, and yet it's only you with an empty sleeve who is standing in front of me! Where are the others?

???: Dead.

Harold: You couldn't kill him?!

???: We can't-!

He cut off short after Harold shot him with a revolver. The vampire fell dead on the floor.

Harold: If you want to have something done, do it yourself. I'll kill him....

4 years later...

The group had quite the adventure, they met knew people/close friends, had started their own lives apart from the camp. Dmitry and Elizabeth had a son of four years, Lazar Gavrilovich, she has taken Dmitry's surname. He had been following them on their trails. He had brown hair, blue eyes, and was a fast learner for his age, he was special since he was probably the first hybrid of a vampire/human in the world. Right now they were in Kentucky, with a camp already set. Dmitry was seen sharping his knifes and other sharp objects.

John: War is almost coming to an end.

Dmitry: I know.

John: Soon, we shall all go our ways.

Dmitry: Is there something wrong with it?

John: No, it will be hard getting to the civilian life. I've been used to this by now, and I'm pretty sure some of the other too.

Dmitry: Listen, you can stay in the gang or not, it's up to you. I know that when I'm done, I'm returning to Serbia. There will be no leader in this gang if I leave, you can only work alone or with each other.

John: ...

Dmitry: Besides, it is already to long since I saw my other family. And that goes to the others too. I already have too much things around the camp, I shall be having back at home too tenfold. It's best for me to end things sooner and probably find a new job that isn't as dangerous as this, I have a wife and kid now.

John: Alright, I guess you do have a point.

He just looked at Dmitry and stood there.

Dmitry: You grew a bond with the others?

John: Yes...

Dmitry: You can always be in contact with them, trust me on that. You can meet by mere coincidence. You shall find them again even if you are hundreds of kilo meters away.

John: How can you be this wise?

Dmitry: I don't know.

He continued doing his own stuff until Lazar came to him.

Lazar: Daddy! Daddy!

Dmitry: Didn't I say you speak Serbian with me and yes?

Lazar: Sorry, I wanted to know what are you doing?

Dmitry: Sharpening weapons, why?

Lazar: I wanted to play with you.

Dmitry: Alright. Get up.

He was giving Lazar a piggyback ride around the camp.

Lazar: Dad?

Dmitry: Yes?

Lazar: What is your job?

Dmitry: Well...

Lazar: Don't lie to me now.

Dmitry: I forgot how smart you were. Well, I'm a hunter.

Lazar: You have to be more specific.

Dmitry: A vampire hunter.

Lazar: Cool! I want to be one too when I grow up!

Dmitry: Well, you have to be fit and have motivation to be one. You can be one if you have those two.

Lazar: I will!

Dmitry: That's the spirit. I'll put you down now.

He let Lazar get off his back and he went to go checking the weapons in the camps to see if they work properly, Lazar follow him to see what being a hunter is like. 

Meanwhile...

Harold: Where?!

???: Around 16 miles n-north!

Harold was seen interrogating someone who had saw the group passing by.

Harold: Thank you for your cooperation. Now get out of here!

The person ran away as fast as he could.

Harold: It took me some time, but I'm almost there.

Back at the camp...

Jack: Remember how you almost died back there if Elizabeth didn't bring you back.

Dmitry: I thought Jeremy said it was a non-fatal wound.

Jeremy: I was lying to make you less worried.

Dmitry: You dirty rat. Lee, how is the meat doing?

Lee: It's alright chief. Almost done.

Dmitry: Right. 

A few hours later...

Dmitry was laying in bed with Elizabeth, Lazar had his own bed and tent.

Elizabeth: When are we going to your homeland?

Dmitry: Until this war is over, I grew tired of hunting them now. I need to find a proper job now, even though I am well payed right now and have lots of money, I need to keep you two healthy. But we shall come there.

Elizabeth: Glad to hear it.

Dmitry: You're welcome. Goodnight.

He kissed her on the cheek, she kissed him back.

Elizabeth: Goodnight dear.

They then went to sleep.
