One Last End of Evangelion

Asuka looked up as she saw nine Remote Evangelion Deployment Vessels, or REDVs shoot across the sky.

"Oh boy."

"Dummy System Mk-2 completely operational!"

"Evangelion Units 05 thru 13 are in prime condition!"

"Neural pathways are good!"

"Vitals are good!"

"Inserting Dummy Plug KAWORU!"

"All nine EVAs have accepted the Dummy Plug!"

"Commencing launch of all nine Evangelions!"

The Mass Production Evangelions began free falling from their carrier units as they each spread their wings. Their mouths hung open as they spread their wings, soaring down into the exposed GeoFront.

"Asuka! Be careful! They've deployed nine Evangelion units!"

"Nine, huh? Talk about overkill. The hell is Idiot Shinji at a time like this?"

"We have no backup to provide. It's just you out there."

"Typical. Absolutely typical. And with only 3 and a half minutes to spare."

"That isn't entirely true, Asuka."

"Eh?"

Suddenly, a huge mechanical frame was airlifted in. It was silhouetted by the sun, but its face of several rectangles glowed either way.

"The J.A.!?"

A screen came online in her cockpit.

"Shiro Tokita here, on behalf of Japan Heavy Chemical Industries. When Shinji stopped the Jet Alone prototype, the Jet Alone project was nearly cancelled. But I persisted, and we managed to finalize the design. I present to you, Jet Alone KAI, at your and humanity's service!"

"Holy hell...so that's the finalized Jet Alone? It's no Evangelion, but it might just turn the tides in our favor." Asuka said.

"The activation code is HOPE! We wish you luck, Asuka! Do all of mankind proud and stop the Human Instrumentality Project!"

"Well, we'll accept your assistance without any hesitation!" Misato shouted. "Code Key: HOPE!"

Jet Alone's systems came online as its rotors whirred and steam bellows from the exhaust pipes on its back. It took a mighty step forwards, considerably more gracefully than the prototype unit.

"Wow, it really works. Good on you, JHCI. We owe you one." Misato said.

"Well, let's get this show on the road!" Asuka shouted. She rushed down one of the MPEs, unsheathing her progressive knife and stabbing it in the throat. She ripped the blade out as the MPE screamed and choked on its own blood, collapsing.

"Evangelion Unit-05 has gone silent!"

JA KAI stomped forwards, bringing down its hammer on one MPE, shattering its bones and causing its brains to smear out.

"Evangelion Unit-06 has gone silent!"

Asuka rushed forwards and stabbed one MPE hard in the chest. It screamed and wailed, but it managed to break off the prog knife's blade, falling over.

"Evangelion Unit-07 has gone silent!"

"Reloading prog knife!" Another blade unsheathed from the prog knife.

The JA KAI was surrounded. Its torso rotated 180 degrees as it swung its hammer, bashing the brains out of one MPE, and an array of armor piercing missiles fired from its legs, blowing apart the other.
