Dawn woke the next day. After her talk with Lenard he had shown her to a room. He had relaxed a lot during their talk that night. As she got out of bed she decided to go explore the town and see if anyone else believed that the killings are caused by vampires.

Knock, knock.

"Come in!" Dawn shouted.

"Good you're awake," Trixie said," thought I'd asked what your plan was for the day."

"I was going to go around town and talk to some of the people," Dawn said.

"Do you want us to come with you?" Trixie asked.

"You guys don't need to," Dawn said," if you want to do you own things then have fun."

"Cool then I'll tell the other and I'll see ya later," Trixie said then left closing the door behind her.

Once dressed Dawn made her way down the stairs and saw that her friends had gone out already. Good. Dawn thought. This gives me a chance to ask my questions freely. With a wave to Lenard, at the front desk, Dawn headed out. Now that the sun was shining people were out and about enjoying the day. Walking around with her note book and pencil in hand Dawn made her way to a group of older women.

"Hello, my names Dawn and I just wanted to ask you a few questions about the killings," Dawn said.

"We know nothing," one of the women said then turned her head and the group walked away.

Not letting that discourage her Dawn made her way to another group of people. This group was of younger women. "Hello, could I ask what your thought are on the killings?" Dawn asked.

They just stared at her then walked away. She tried for two hours and no one would talk to her. She had thought she was asking the wrong questions and started asking if they thought that all the deaths was by vampires. Those questions just made the people laugh at her and insult her to her face. Some would even say that she shouldn't listen to what Lenard says because he's crazy.

"Well this is getting me nowhere," Dawn mumbled," and I haven't seen that guy from yesterday yet."

Looking around Dawn saw no one with snow white hair. "Well if this was supposed to be easy then it'd be boring," Dawn said," and besides this is an adventure no matter what my friends say." Walking down the road she headed to the forest. She wanted to see if she could find any clues that might have been looked over. A hour later of looking she found nothing.

"Maybe I should look deeper in the forest," Dawn said," I mean if I was a killer that's where I would hide and make my way around to stay out of sight."

So with that, Dawn went into the forest. She didn't plan on going to deep. After all she had to make sure she could get back out before it got dark.

The deeper she went the thicker the vegetation got. And soon she was lost. "Can this get any worse?" She grumbled.

Snap!

With a jump Dawn turned in the direction of the sound. It sounded like someone stepped on a twig. Please don't be the killer. Dawn pleaded.

"Hey do you smell that?" A male voice asked.

"Yeah I do," a deeper male voice answered," means we get to eat today."

The sound of footsteps approaching made Dawn turn and run. She didn't want to find out who those two were. For all she cared they could be the ones that have been killing people.

"It's seems our prey wants us to chase it!" The first man shouted.

"Let's see if this one will be more fun," the second laughed.

Dawn kept running. She didn't know where she was going, but she was hoping that it was the way out of the forest. As she ran branches kept smacking her, she was beginning to think that she would have quit a few cuts after all this. Then the ground disappeared. With a yelp Dawn fell to the ground with a hard thud.

"What the?!" One of the men shouted.

"Agh!" The other shouted.

Then there was silence. Dawn sat up and looked at where she was. She had fallen into a small ravine. Slowly she got to her feet. Nothing felt broken so she slowly tried to climb out. The dirt and rocks crumbled away and she couldn't get a good hold to climb out.

"You're not going to be able to get out like that," another male voice spoke.

Looking up Dawn saw snow white hair. The man from last time. He was wearing a grey suit this time. "Well, how am I supposed to get out then?" Dawn asked. The man stood and then jumped down in the ravine to stand beside her.

"Are you hurt?" He asked.

"I don't think so," Dawn said checking herself over to make sure.

"Good," he said," the start smearing mud on your skin."

"What?" Dawn asked.

"Smear mud on your skin," he repeated," it'll make it harder for others to find you."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Dawn asked. She was confused as to what the man before her was saying. Why would she cover herself in mud? And why would that make it harder for the men that was chasing her to find her? She was so deep in thought that she didn't realize that the man before her had bent down and scooped a handful of mud. When she snapped out of her thoughts cold, wet mud was being smeared on her neck. "What the hell are you doing?!" Dawn screeched.

"Covering you in mud," the man said," it will help hide you, and if you don't want me to continue doing it then you should do it yourself."

Grumbling to herself, Dawn crouched down and did what she was told. Once she was done she stood and began to follow the man. As they walked she noticed that the man before her want covered in mud, well his hands were covered in mud now.

"So how come you don't have mud covering you?" Dawn asked.

"Don't really need to," the man said.

"What happened to those two men that was chasing me?" Dawn asked.

"Don't know," the man said shortly.

Dawn tried a few more times to get a good answer out of the guy, but his answers were short and sometimes he didn't bother answering her questions at all.

"You know you could at least talk to me if you don't want to answer any of my questions," Dawn grumbled.

"Why were you in the forest?" The man asked.

"Oh, so you can ask questions but I can't," Dawn said.

"I answered some of your questions," the man said.

"True, well because you asked, it's because I'm here to write a story," Dawn said," and I was hoping to do it on the mystery murders."

"And how is that working for you?" The man asked as he stepped over a fallen branch.

"Not so well, no one in the town wants to answer any of my questions," Dawn said," and then I come in this stupid forest hoping to find something, only to get chased into this ravine."

They fell into silence after that. And not long after they came to a spot where they could easily climb out. Once out of the ravine Dawn began to look around. The air smelled of saltwater.

"Where are we?" Dawn asked.

The man looked at her for a second before answering," we are close to the ocean."

"Really?" Dawn asked, she had never been this close to the ocean," can we go take a look?"

"It's not a good idea," the man said. Then he turned and began walking away from her. Quickly she followed. She didn't want to lose sight of him, or get even more lost than she was.
It felt like hours passed by before they came to the edge of the forest. Dawn felt so relieved to see the town of Coland again.

"Thank you for the help," Dawn said turning to look at the man that helped her. But he wasn't there. She looked around her trying to figure out where he had gone, but there was no trace of him. Hesitating only for a moment Dawn turned and ran back into the town. She wanted to get back to the hotel before it got dark. And she was hoping to avoid her friends questions if she made a strait line to her room.
