"I can't believe we made it," Trixie said.

"I just want to know why a guy in a suit was walking in the forest," Layla said.

"Well we can figure that out once we find a place to sleep," Dawn said," if you guys haven't noticed it's getting dark."

As they walked the four noticed that no one was walking the streets. The sun was setting, but there should still be people walking the streets. With the empty streets there was an eerie silence that welcomed them.

"Where the hell is everyone?" Trixie asked.

"Maybe they are all at there homes," Layla suggested.

"But there should still be people out and about," Luke said," it doesn't matter what time it is there's always someone walking around."

"Not if there's a curfew," a voice said.

"Ah!" The four shrieked, turning around they saw a girl with bright ginger hair and blue eyes.

"Where the hell did you come from?!" Dawn screeched. She was not a fan of people sneaking up on her.

"I came from over there," the girl said," the names Roxie, and yeah there's a curfew so your not going to see anyone out and about."

After a while the group followed Roxie. She showed them around a little as she led them to where she lived. The sun had fully set by the time they reached a smallish hotel. Walking in they were greeted to a empty front desk. Against one of the walls sat a unlit fireplace, a few chairs sat around the fireplace. Everything looked rustic and well kept. The group waited by the fireplace as Roxie walked through a door behind the desk.

"Should we trust her?" Trixie asked.

"What do you mean?" Dawn asked.

"Well she did appear out of nowhere," Layla said timidly.

"Well it's no different than that man in the forest," Dawn said," after all he too came out of nowhere and he gave us directions to get here."

The sound of muffled yelling, and things being thrown and breaking stoped her friends from saying anything else. They all turned at the sound of the door opening. Out walked a tall, buff man with shaggy dirty blonde hair and a beard to match. To Dawn the man's hair and beard reminded her of a lions main. He stopped in front of them and crossed his arms across his chest. The man didn't look pleased at all. Roxie was behind the man, looking a little annoyed.

"Uh... hi," Dawn said getting in front of her friends. She didn't really know much about fighting, but her instincts were telling her to get in front of her friends and do anything to protect them if needed. She always seem lucky when she got into a fight with someone. But she would also get the shot kicked out of her during those fights, and yet she always seemed to be the one that came out victorious.

"What brings y'all here," The man asked," we don't take to kindly to strangers these days."

"I'm here to do a report on your town," Dawn said," my friends are accompanying me."

"Report for what?" The man asked with narrowed eyes.

"Well I work at a news report office," Dawn explained," I write articles, and I was given the task to write an article about this place."

"And what are y'alls names?" The man asked.

Did this guy grow up in the country? Dawn thought he must have by the way he talked. "My friends are Luke, Layla, and Trixie," Dawn said," and I'm Dawn."

The man gave a grunt. Roxie moved from behind him to stand in front of him. She gave a forced smile and said," guys this is my uncle, Lenard."

"Nice to meet you," Dawn said," is it okay if I ask who you think has been killing people?"

Roxie gave her a look and a long sigh. Her uncle looked to relax a little and answered," that'll be vampires that been doing the kill'n."

As quickly as Dawn could she pulled out her notebook and a pencil. "What makes you think that it's vampires?" Dawn asked.

"Don't get him started," Roxie groaned," he'll never shut up about it."

"Sorry to tell you Roxie but once she starts going she won't stop," Trixie said.

"Roxie, show them to their rooms," Lenard said," I'll be talkn' to Dawn here."

As her friends were shown to there rooms Dawn sat down in one of the chairs and Lenard followed sitting across from her. He went into full detail on the history of the town and some of the legends.

"So why do you think it's vampires that are killing?" Dawn asked.

"'Cause the bodies are being found by the forest," Lenard said," this happened many years ago too, when my great-great grandfather was a young lad."

"This happened before?" Dawn asked.

"Yes, and there was over fifty bodies before the kill'ns stopped," Lenard said," and they all happen' near the forest, though back then the forest was much bigger."
