The whole hotel was quiet for hours. Charlie, Vaggie, Husker and Nifty remained in the bar, not muttering a single word. Their friend Angel Dust finally came out of his room, but only to see worried expressions on his friends' faces.
"Hey guys- What's happening? Your faces look like Extermination Day already happened." He said, his eyes sweeping across the bar. "Wait a minute, where's the strawberry pimp?"
No one answered.
"I'm be heading off now." Husker grabbed another bottle of alcohol and drank it as he left. Vaggie sighed stressfully and looked at Angel.
"It's about Alastor." Nifty's voice was a whisper, "Ever since he received that letter he's been quiet in his room for a long time. I even saw him frown."
Angel was surprised to hear this. "Alastor...Frowned?"
"Are you de-,"
"ATTENTION ALL DEMONS! EXTERMINATION DAY HAS BEEN MOVED UP TO TODAY!! THE DAY WILL BEGIN IN A FEW MINUTES!!!"
Everyone froze. It was only a few weeks before Extermination Day, or the Cleanse, would begin.
"What?! No way!" Vaggie stood up and ran to a window. Many demons were either running around panicking or murdering each other.
"WHAT THE F*CK JUST HAPPENED?!" Husker rushed out of the kitchen. He too couldn't believe what he had just heard about Extermination Day.
"Guys, let's all stay calm, as long as we are in the hotel, none of the angels will break in." Charlie turned to everyone and looked at Angel in the eye.
"Uh, guys?" Nifty was looking at something behind Charlie. Everyone gasped except for Charlie, who immediately turned around to see an angel. She was about to step back when she noticed the angel wasn't like the others. It was a male and he looked human but had no wings.
"Who are you?!" Vaggie ran and stood in front of Charlie, holding a spear and pointing the blade towards the angel like she did with Alastor when he first came to the hotel. The angel almost stumbled backwards at this, his eyes were fixed on the blade.
"W-woah, easy there." The angel took a step backwards, "I- I come in peace."
"Ha! You wish. I've learnt to not trust people like you." Said Angel as he pulled out a Tommy Gun. The angel looked surprised.
"Vaggie, Angel, let me talk to him." Said Charlie, looking at Vaggie and Angel as they lowered their weapons.
"Thank you." The angel smiled. Charlie sighed.
"May I ask why you are here? And why was Extermination Day moved up?" Charlie folded her arms.
"W-well, a certain someone- he was an old friend of mine, and he is incredibly dangerous. He snuck up to heaven and well... Tore my wings off..." The angel gulped. Everyone stared at him with shock.
"But why would you come to us?" Charlie remained calm.
"I heard- I heard that someone who can stop him stays here... We knew each other when we were alive..." The angel's eyes swept across the bar.
"We could help you, but first could you tell us what he looks like?" Asked Charlie.
"I haven't seen him for a long time, but I believe if you play this cassette tape he will eventually come." The angel handed a cassette tape to Charlie.
"But how will we tell you we've found him?" Charlie looked at the angel.
"Don't worry, you wouldn't have to contact me. He knows what to do." Replied the angel, smiling.
"Before you carry on, may I ask what's your name?" The angel asked.
"It's Charlie." Replied Charlie. The angel flinched at the name.
"Charlie... The same as my daughter's. My name's Henry." Henry looked solemn, as Charlie suddenly hugged him.
"I promise you we'll find him."
Henry felt a tear in his eye. "Thank you."
After that Henry disappeared in a blink of an eye, never to be seen again.
Everyone looked at the cassette tape in Charlie's hand.
"How exactly are you going to find him with that... 'thing'?" Angel leant against a wall.
"I don't know, I guess we'll have to find out eventually." Replied Charlie.
"But what about sir? Can't he help us?" Nifty was referring to Alastor. They had forgotten about his scene earlier.
"I'll talk to him." Husker gulped up the last of his booze.
"Charlie, are you sure we can-,"
BOOM.
Everyone jumped and stumbled in surprise. Someone had blew up a part of the hotel leaving rubble and clouds of dust everywhere.
"Oh heck no." Angel looked into the clouds of dust.
"What?" Charlie looked up, as the clouds of dust disappeared to reveal an angel. But this angel wasn't like Henry, it was the Extermination angel.
"RUN!!"
