Rain.
That's what filled the silence between the two in the car. The thundering of the rain against the windows and they drove through the night. It was nice in a way, gentle, yet emotional.
It was comforting.Bert fiddled with his rough palms, trailing his hands above the scars that snagged a place on his body years ago. He tried not to think about the way he had got them, and instead chose to believe what Mark had always said. Something along the lines of "it's proof of how strong you are, mentally, which is something to hold onto."
Bert smiled and slumped down in his seat, he loved mark deeply. He was at his worst when he met mark, but that was the only thing that brought him back up again, helped him.
He was so hopelessly in love with mark, and always felt comforted by his presence and sheer personality.
Bert loved cuddling with him, kissing him, comforting him, complimenting him, anything along those lines. He would do anything to see mark happy.Just as Bert's thoughts came to a halt, so did the car.
An exhausted sigh came from next to him. Mark rested his head on the wheel.
"Out of fuel." He simply stated.
Bert furrowed his brows and nervously rubbed his arm, "Oh." He replied. He didn't really know what to do in these situations, so he just stayed put until the other individual came up with an idea.
Mark frowned and straightened his posture ever so slightly, resting his chin on the palm of his hand. "I'm sorry, I should've checked the fuel before we left- I knew it was low but I assumed it was enough to get us home."
Bert took Mark's hand in his, and rubbed the back with his thumb reassuringly. "Calm down, none of this is your fault."
"It is." Mark looked away.
"Is not, cmon Mark, you know better than to blame yourself for absolutely everything." Bert contradicted, smiling.
Mark's mood lightened a little, and he grinned,
resting his head on Bert's shoulder. Bert giggled and gently grabbed Marks head, pecking kisses at him before letting go. Mark flushed a bright red and hesitated before grabbing Bert's face, and kissing him passionately.
Bert's eyes widened and his hands dropped free and hung at his sides for a second, before moving to Mark's neck.It seemed to last for centuries.
for years.
and neither of them wanted to let go of this moment, but they had to.
Mark pulled away first, caressing Bert's cheek with his hand. Bert inhaled sharply and giggled, all giddy over what just happened. He flailed his arms and hugged mark, unintentionally falling asleep as he melted into his grip.
Mark smiled and stroked his back before joining him in a slumber.
