As Aether, Raiden shogun and team RWBY headed to beacon via bullhead, Aether started to distance himself from the others. This made Raiden very worried about her boyfriend.
Ruby: why is Aether avoiding us? Doesn't he trust us? Raiden: no it's not that. It's just. Yang: just what? Raiden: well back in Tayvet, he wasn't very popular. People would just ignore him and the girls there would reject him. Weiss: I can't believe it. Yang: yeah. That's not cool. Blake: but why are you the only one with him if the other girls reject him? Raiden: because I saw great potential in him. So I'm the only one he trusts. Ruby: is he worried that we would betray him? Raiden: its hard to say. Yang: did he ever had a crush on any of the girls from your world? Raiden: there were quite a few, but they didn't return his feelings. They all thought that he was weak. Blake: ok so what are you guys doing in remnant? Aether: I'm looking for my sister. Ruby: do you have a picture of her? Aether: yeah it's right here.
