Y/N POV

~February~

The new year brought my girl to Broadway. She got an understudy role in Impressionism and she's excited but not at the same time. It opens next month so she's in rehearsals a lot. Even though she's the understudy she still needs to know the show in case of emergency.

I'm very excited for her and she said that if she ever goes on she will make sure to get me a ticket. I hope I get to go and see her be great. I'm her biggest fan I swear to god.

Today is her birthday, so I am on my way to her apartment with a bouquet of sunflowers and a stuffed bear. It's not a lot but I'm taking her out to dinner too.

When she opens her door I lose my breath at how beautiful she looks. "Whoa." I whisper and she smiles shyly, looking down at her dress. "Happy birthday." I manage to get out and present the flowers to her.

"Thank you, baby." She responds and skips into her kitchen letting me enter. I close the door and lock it before following her into the kitchen. I can't help but slide my hands to her sides before hugging around her tummy and gently pulling her body back into mine.

I reach up to tuck a strand of her hair that's fallen out of her adorable messy bun behind her ear and smile when I see the corner of her lips quirked up. I lean down to leave a soft kiss on her shoulder before traveling to the side of her neck that tenses at the action.

"Baby" she warns lowly, making me smirk.

"Yes my love?" I whisper against her ear.

"We're going to be late for our reservation." She reminds me and I pout a little before leaving a kiss on her cheek and stepping back from her body.

"You're no fun, but you're also right, let's go." I hold out my hand and she takes it easily, her fingers filling the space between mine perfectly.

We walk in a peaceful silence to a nearby restaurant for her birthday dinner. Once we are seated I move slightly to be closer to her and she smiles brightly when my hand slides onto her thigh.

"You're being really cute and I love it." She comments.

"Well I love you." I return and smile at the way her eyes crinkle with happiness, her big bright smile on display.

"I love you too." She responds and leans over to peck my lips softly.

"How was your birthday?" I ask and she hums know thought.

"Well considering I spent it with my love and my family it was pretty amazing." She decides and I get lost in her sparkly eyes. My mind wanders to waking her up this morning with kisses before showering her with lots of love. Her sisters took us to brunch and gave her a weekend trip to the Hamptons.

"I'm glad. How does it feel to be 20 years old?" I continue the conversation wanting to hear her voice.

"The same, but somehow older. Like I'm more capable of doing things I want to do. I don't know if that makes sense." She tries to explain.

"It makes sense. You're loving your dreams and you haven't even graduated. I'm so happy for you." I remind her.

"I mean yeah I guess being sort of on Broadway is cool, it just isn't giving me the feeling I thought I would have. I like theater but I think I want to do movies more." She explains.

"You'll get there. I know it." I encourage and she smiles before kissing me again. "I feel like you're more comfortable in your own skin." I share and she tilts her head in thought.

"I think maybe a little, yeah. I'm trying not to be so nervous all the time. I'm talking to my stupid therapist and it's helping. I want to do what you do and take all my shit and make art." She shares, her eyes narrowed as she thinks through her thoughts.
