It was quite calm on the day that Harry Styles decided that he was in love. No one was following him around, and if they were he hadn't noticed.

The air was chilly and rain was falling from the sky on the day that Harry's heart skipped a beat. The soft pitter patter of raindrops falling from the sky was enough to lull even the most restless child to sleep. He loved the sound.

And it was also that very day, a calm and rainy day, that Harry Styles experienced one of the worst heart breaks he had ever experienced.

The first steps out of the diner he had eaten in were the ones where his breath got caught in his throat. No, there were no cameras, no fans -- except for one.

"Are you alright?" He asked, approaching the hysterical girl. The sound of his voice only made her cry more as she shook her head.

"I'm sorry, oh my god, I just - " his hands instantly wrapped around her waist, her body shaking from being near him. "I love you so much, you don't understand."

His heart throbbed in his chest at the sight of the girl crying. Tears streamed down her face as a lump formed in his throat.

"Don't cry, please, I love you, too, babe. I love you, too." He whispered.

"I'm so sorry -"

"Sh, calm down, I know. It's okay."

"Harry, I love you so much," she cried, one hand still over her mouth as the other grasped his coat firmly in her hand.

"Don't cry. I love you, too."

He held her tightly against him, the feeling of her heart beating erratically in her chest against his own. In the moment he felt like crying himself; here was a beautiful girl in his arms, sobbing like many others waiting for the day to meet him and all he could do was say, "I love you, too."

There was no lie when he said it either. Harry loved this girl, he truly did. If he had to, he would defend her against someone. Hell, he would take her out to dinner just to put a smile on her face. He loved her; he wanted her happy.

"I've been waiting to meet you since 2011, and all I'm doing is blubbering, I'm sorry." She rambled, head on his shoulder.

His hands ran up and down her back, his biceps flexing at the movement. Harry's own head rested next to hers, his face buried in her neck to soothe her cries.

He felt the tears coming to his eyes but held them back. If he cried right now it would only be worse for the girl.

Harry was always sensitive, not too sensitive, but he showed his feelings quite often. He truly wanted to let the tears go, but he couldn't and he absolutely wouldn't.

"Please don't cry, please." He pleaded, his heart breaking at the quiet sniffles and the occasional "I love you"s.

This girl was only one out of the millions he had yet to hold in his arms. She was only a small number compared to the number that had never even gotten to see him and the boys live. There were still millions of fans that he hadn't gotten to tell how much he loved them in person. And just the thought that he wouldn't be able to hold every single one of them broke his heart into as many pieces as there was fans.

Harry pulled back slightly, turning his head to place a delicate kiss to the girl's temple before moving back to their former position. Honestly, Harry loved hugging his fans. He would hold them all forever if he could, but he couldn't and that hurt him more than people thought.

"You alright, now?" He mumbled, arms tightening around the girl's smaller frame.

"I - yeah. Sorry," she apologized, ready to move back. Harry didn't let her go. He wouldn't.

The girl didn't complain, though. She let the moment last longer because who could say no to Harry? She let her arms tighten around him just as tightly as he was.

"Not just yet," he whispered, voice cracking. It didn't go unnoticed by her.

Harry's eyes were red with tears that threatened to fall, his throat burning from the intensity of the pain he felt. His chest was tightening, breaths becoming harder to take in.

At the moment Harry Styles was happy that there were no cameras. He was glad no one could see the wetness in his eyes. Even with the pain, Harry was okay that tomorrow there would probably be some article making him out to be a bad person. Right now, he was okay with all of the negativity if just for this one moment he made this girl happy. It only pained him to know that he couldn't do it for every single fan.

"I love you," Harry said, saying it first to prove that it was true - that he wasn't just saying it to say it back. He was saying it because he meant it, and he would say it over and over again if he had to.

"I love you so much," he said again as he pulled his arm up to wipe at his eyes quickly. Harry cleared his throat, pulling back from the embrace as his security guard called his name.

She stared at him with wide eyes, still sniffling slightly. He smiled at her, eyes still slightly red.

"I have to go now, you going to be alright?" He asked, hand on her shoulder.

The girl's lip trembled but nodded regardless. She smiled weakly at him.

"What about you,are you - are you going to be alright?" She questioned, taking note of his own little breakdown.

"I'll be completely fine," Harry reassured, swallowing the lump in his throat. He pulled her into another hug, this one shorter than the other.

"Hope to see you soon," he said, turning to walk away from her.

And then he was sudden saddened because it could possibly be untrue. He might never see her again. She may see him, but he might never see her.

That was when Harry truly felt heartbroken.
