"Fine. I'll go."

He heard a sigh of relief from the other line.

"Not that I'm expecting a different answer. Very well, my child."

"When will we leave?" Law asked.

"Ah, I forgot to tell you that you will leave first and I will catch up with you after a few days as I still have to take care of some important things in the company. Do you want me to send you men to accompany you on your journey?"

Law doesn't know if his father is just being sarcastic or what, it only adds to his annoyance.

"I am an adult, not some five year old kid."

"Alright. Alright then. See you soon."

He didn't respond and just ended the call.

It's been 6 years. Sometimes Law wonders why their family ended up like this. He hated his father for what he had done 6 years ago. He is blaming him for the death of his mother, Corazon, and his little sister, Lami.

Because of his wealth, he didn't give much time to his mom when she was still alive that led her to kill herself. Because of his failure as a father, his little sister died from drowning when he was supposed to be looking after her.

After their deaths, Doflamingo became obsessed with gambling, drinking himself to death and vented his anger on Law. He ordered Law to quit medical school and study business, but Law refused. Law never wanted to take over their company in the first place. Despite everything that Doflamingo did to threaten Law, Law still insisted. He ran away from home and lived by himself. Monet, his older sister, is the only one left to his father. Sure he's not making things hard for her because she's his favorite among all of his children.

Later that day, Law went back to his apartment and packed the things he had to bring. He finished early because he didn't bring a lot of things, just a few clothes and some medical kits he always brought with him. Also, his white furry hat with black dots on it. It's a gift from his mother that he always brings wherever he goes.

After a few hours of driving, Law finally arrived at Dressrosa. It's quite miles away from the city. It's a place covered with green fields that's refreshing to the eyes. And the wind is fresh compared to the polluted air in the city. It makes Law's body relax.

He couldn't count how many times he had planned to visit the place since he was young.

He can still remember how their family is very excited whenever they visit and spend their vacation on this place. Especially his mother, it's because this is both his parents's hometown, their relatives lived here, including his favorite grandfather and cousin. He didn't know what happened but they just stopped visiting one day. Both his mother and father forbid them to stop coming over. He would understand if it's only Doflamingo who stopped them because Corazon's father never approved of Doffy for his mother but even Corazon stopped them. She didn't tell him the reason until she died.

That's why he gave up the thought of visiting the place too. Since then, he hasn't seen his grandfather and his favorite cousin ever again. It's been years, he's still a little kid when he last visited Dressrosa. He wondered if he'll ever get a chance to see them again, now that he's back.

He didn't head to their house first. He drives straight into the forest to visit his secret spot, where he used to go when he was still a child.

He smiled when he saw the pond he used to bathe in as a kid. He sat on the grass under a tree that's a few steps away from the pond, protecting him from the sun. The place had been his hiding place. He's happy that it hasn't changed much.

He closed his eyes and felt the wind blowing, making him feel relaxed and sleepy.

_

Law felt the cold breeze of wind hit his face. He slowly opened his eyes when he realized he had fallen asleep. He never had such a nice sleep for years. He noticed that the surroundings were covered in orange, a sign that the sun was probably about to set. He realized that he had slept for probably a few hours.

Law felt something heavy on his shoulder and heard a loud snore coming from his side. He gazed at the head leaning on his shoulder. Who's this? Law thought.

Law disliked physical contact and had never been close to anyone in his entire life, except for his little sister Lami. He didn't know what to feel now that his space has been invaded by a stranger. He can't see its face because of the Strawhat covering its face, probably to hide in the bright sunlight. He was about to push the head of whoever this someone was when the Strawhat fell from its face. That made him take a good look at the person's face.

It's a little girl. Scratch that, the girl could pass as an eighteen or nineteen-year old, but who's to say in this generation nowadays?

She's peacefully sleeping as if she hasn't experienced the cruelty this life has to give. The girl has creamy skin and soft features. Despite the scar under her left eye, Law thought the girl looked angelic. He hadn't stared at a woman's face before because he simply didn't care and thought women were just the same. But he can't take off his eyes from this girl's face.

How could this girl sleep comfortably on a stranger's shoulder? Does she do this to anyone? He suddenly felt worried about the girls' safety.

He heard a loud snore again. Why is this little angel snoring? It doesn't match her face, and he hasn't encountered a girl snoring before. She's probably in a good deep sleep.

He's still looking at the girl's face when it suddenly opens her eyes.

They both stare at each other for about 5 seconds before he looks away. Law feels something strange about the eye contact.

The girl sat properly and scratched her eyes to let them adjust before she let out a yawn.

She then looks at him and focuses her eyes on him, scrutinizing his face before giving him the brightest smile he had ever seen.

"Hi! Good morning!" said the girl with a wide grin that connected both of her ears.
