it was the middle of the night when the ship landed on the island, the loud noise of the motor finally fading. you had been placed into a room the size of storeroom and were now impatiently waiting for someone to get you out of this tight hole. being alone with no distractions allowed you to think of possible ways to escape the island but most importantly bring gabi and falco to safety.

the faint sound of footsteps could be heard on the other side of the door before it had been opened by one of the solider's whose name you believed to be jean. "let's go" he said sternly before pulling you to your feet by yanking your arm harshly. he was incredibly tall, his brown hair underlining his golden eyes which narrowed as you shot him a glare due to the rough grip he still had on your arm.

he led you towards the exit of the airship which was crowded by soldiers. "behave" he whispered silently into your ear when the cold air hit your face, letting your dark hair fly with the wind. the ship had landed next to a military base close to the city, the greatness of the enormous grey wall catching your attention.

you had only heard, seen drawings or listened to stories about the walls surrounding paradis. never did you imagine them to actually live up to your expectations. it really did look intimidating and the difficulties those people had to endure inside this cage was clearly beyond your understanding.

some of the soldiers along with zeke and ackerman immediately took off with several carriages, you on the other hand seemed to be led towards the main building of the base. yelena and the woman with brown hair, the commander of the survey corpse walked in front. several soldiers with similar uniform but different badges lined up in front of the building along the road to welcome their returned comrades.

the content look on their face, however, faded the moment they had laid eyes on you or rather on the red band wrapped around your arm as you passed by. that small piece of cloth which had the power to awaken hate and prejudice inside of people. a meaningless piece of fabric that had influence on your life, more than anything else did.

sweat was dripping down your forehead, your throat dry, your lungs screaming for air as you stood in the middle of the training field on the verge of throwing up. you had reached your limit a long time ago, both mentally and physically, still you kept running for another hour. "what the hell are you doing y/ln? who allowed you to stop?" the sound of your instructors voice rang in your ears.

"I c-cant" your eyes slowly closed, the darkness engulfing your body as you finally allowed yourself to rest. it all had become too much.

a loud noise caused you to wake up again and bright orange light fell into your pupils which reflexively closed again due to the sudden brightness. you looked around, finding yourself in a familiar place - home. the smell, the soft bedsheets, the big window with a view of the street, the noises, you had missed all of that during training camp.
