We Must Reinvent Love

Silence. Dead fucking silence. Beau was seriously considering turning around and running back to his room, but he knew this time he couldn't run.

Daniel was staring at him in complete and utter shock.

"I think I'll go see what Luke and Jai are doing," James got up off the bed, gave Beau a quick pat on the back before he left the room.

Beau stayed where he was staring at the younger boy, praying that he would say something.

Daniel had millions of thoughts running through his head, he wasn't even sure if he had heard Beau properly. He needed to make sure he had in fact heard those words come out of Beau's mouth.

"What?" Daniel said in a whisper that Beau almost missed the question.

"I love you Daniel." Beau said confidently.

Daniel didn't respond. He just sat on his bed thinking to himself. Beau knew that he needed to tell Daniel just how much he loved him.

"I know that this is well and truly overdue. I know I should have told you ages ago my feelings for you. I know I have hurt you and I am so sorry about what I have done to you. You will never understand how sorry I am." Beau tried to look at Daniel but he had his head down. "I wish I had some really good explanation about what I did, but I don't. All I can tell you is that I was scared. And maybe I'm still scared, scared because you mean more to me than any other person, scared because I may not be enough for you." Beau took a deep breath.

"I don't have much to offer Daniel, I'm not perfect. I've annoyed you, pissed you off, said stupid things, tried to take them all back time and time again. But put all of that aside Daniel, and you'll never find a person who cares or loves you more than me."

Beau's hands were getting really sweaty, his heart was beating a million miles a minute.

"Today I realized I was thinking about you, and I began to wonder how long you'd been on my mind. Then it occurred to me, you've been on my mind since I met you, you've never left. You are everything I think about, everything I need, everything I want. I want you Daniel. I want us. I want it all. With you. And only you."

This was it Beau thought to himself, this was everything he had needed to tell Daniel. Beau took one final deep breath.

"I love you Daniel Sahyounie. Everything about you. You are my partner. My lover. My very best friend. My heart. My heart beats for you." Daniel finally looked up at Beau, both boys had tears in their eyes.

"You're my happy." Beau stared at Daniel hoping the younger boy understood just how much he meant to Beau.

Silence returned to the room. The only sounds were both boys breathing. Beau didn't know if he should leave or stay. He had said his piece and he just needed to know how Daniel felt but he wasn't sure if Daniel was going to say anything.

Beau waited for what felt like hours. He was sure Daniel wasn't going to say anything so he slowly turned around deciding it was better to leave now. He stopped when he heard Daniel clear his throat.

"You know," Daniel started, Beau turned back around, nervous at what Daniel was going to say. Daniel looked at Beau, "You know you really love someone when you don't hate them for breaking your heart." Daniel got up off the bed.
