Chapter 20

*Charlie P.O.V.*

A few more months passed and soon the three of us a graduated. We made amends with Douglas and he saved Leo's life by making him bionic. Soon Big D had founded a school for Bionic kids and he made the five of us instructors. "Hello there Doll," Chase said coming to me after classes one day. "Hey babe. What's up," I asked. "You, Me, and a date," he said. "Hmmm where," I asked pretending to think. "The beach," he said. "I would love to. 8 o'clock," I asked. "See you then," he said. I got ready for the date later that evening and met Chase down on the beach. When I got there I saw a beautiful picnic set up. "Chase what is all of this," I asked. "This isn't any ordinary date," he said leading me to it. We sat down and I could visibly see him sweating. "Chase. Baby is everything okay," I asked. "J-Just a little nervous," he said. "You have no reason to be nervous. It's just me and you," I said holding his hands. "Okay," he said taking a deep breath.

"Charlotte Eleanor Davidson, I love you with everything in me. And I know we are young but I don't want to love anyone else for the rest of my life," he began. "Chase I love you too," I said. "I don't have a ring, but I'll get one. But would you be willing to marry me," he asked. I didn't know what to say, so I just began to kiss him passionately. "I'll take that as a yes," he said with a laugh when we parted. "Yes. Yes. It is definitely a yes," I said tears of joy spilling down my cheeks. Before we could say anything else the warning siren began to sound. We hurried to the building and Big D was waiting for us. "We got a mission for you all," Big D said. "What's the mission," I asked as Chase wrapped an arm around my waist. Big D began to explain the mission before he finished with, "Charlie is sitting this one out."

"What!? Why," we all asked. "I have a different job for her here," he said before sending the others on the mission. When they left I turned to him. "So what my job," I asked. "Moral support," he said. "What," I said in shock. "I could do more good going with them," I said. "Tell me Charlie, when was the last time you were able to use your bionics without them acting up," he asked. "I don't know maybe like two weeks ago. But what does that have to do with anything," I asked. "I did a body scan," he said. "Okay and," I said lost. "It's make more sense if I show you," he said pulling up my scan. "You know I can't read these things," I said looking at it. "You see that blip," he asked pointing to my stomach area. "Yeah what about it," I asked. "Have you been feeling off at all since you're bionics started acting up," he asked. "I guess. I have been feeling a little nauseous and getting some headaches, but that can't have anything to do with this," I said pointing at it. "Charlie. That is the whole reason for it," he said. "Big D. What is that inside me," I asked. "Charlie, you're pregnant," he said.

Hours later

I was still processing the news when Bree, Adam, Chase, and Leo returned. "Hey we're back," Leo announced. I was still lost in my thoughts when they entered the room. "What did you do to her," Chase asked. "I didn't do anything to her," Big D said. "Then why does she look like she hasn't moved in hours," Chase said worriedly running over to me. I was broken out of my thoughts when he pulled me into his chest. "Chase," I said holding his face. "Yeah it's me. What happened," he asked. "You just left, how are you back so soon," I asked. "Doll. We've been gone for hours," he said. "Big D. Why is my best friend talking nonsense," Leo asked. "I've been sitting in this one spot for hours and you haven't tried to talk to me," I said turning to Big D. "I tried talking to you, you just never responded," Big D said. "What did you say to my fiance," Chase said, or rather Spike. "Now you've done it," Adam said. "Wait. Is no one going to say anything about the fact that he just called Charlie his Fiance," Leo said. "I heard it too, but I thought I was just hearing things," Bree said.

"Spike. Stop," I finally spoke. He turned to me and I kissed him softly disengaging him. "What happened," Chase asked. "Uhhh. You called Charlie your fiance," Leo said. "He asked before the mission and I accepted," I said. "That's great news," Adam said hugging me. "I'm finally going to have a sister," Bree cheered hugging me. "Yeah well apparently that isn't the only news," I mumbled. "What's going on? Talk to me," Chase said. "After you left Big D informed me of something that just took me a while to absorb," I said. "What did he say," he asked cupping my face. "You're going to be a daddy," I said at a whisper only he could hear. "Doll. That's what you already call me," he said not understanding. "Chase you aren't listening to the words coming out of my mouth," I said pushing him back. "Tell me, maybe I can help him understand," Bree said. "He'll probably only understand if it's in front of his face," I said snappy. Big D pulled up my scan and they all went over to look at it and I began to cry. "Doll. Don't cry," he said before looking at the scan. He got it quicker than I did and he looked down at me. "Doll are you," he began. "It seems so," I said looking down at my hands. "Doll. I will be here for you every step of the way, no matter what. I love you, even if we did some steps out of order," he said tilting my chin to look up at him. "I'm still lost," Leo said. "Charlie is pregnant," Big D said. "And Douglas put a code in her chip which disengaged her abilities when her body is providing nourishment to another life," Chase finished.
