Chapter One
Vanessa's POV
"Vanessa! I swear you need to chill out." said Gabriella laughing. She linked arms with me as we walked to lunch. Out of no where, Clark appeared and linked arms with me. I gasped in shock then when I realized it was him a breathed a sigh of relief.
"What the hell Clark! You almost gave me a heart attack." I said.
"Everything gives you a heart attack Nessa." he said grinning at me.
We walked to the Cafeteria and sat down at the table Jaden was sitting at.
"I was waiting for you three for like 5 hours!" said Jaden.
"Brie isn't that your latest crush?" asked Clark pointing to this really super cute guy.
"Don't point Clark it's rude!" she said. "and yes he is so shut up."
"More like latest f***." said Jaden grinning and I burst out laughing.
"Screw off bitch!" said Gabriella laughing.
"It's just Mason. We're all friends with him! It's not like you like that random!" I said pointing at a random guy I have no idea about.
"That's Aaron actually! I have math with him." said Jaden.
"Whatever!" I said laughing.
Clark and Gabriella have been my best friends for as long as I can remember. But we call Gabriella, Brie and everyone else calls her Gabby. Jaden came to our school two years ago and we immediately became best friends. We have been there for eachother through thick and thin.
I'm Vanessa. Most people call me Nessa, Ness or Vaness. I have dark brown wavy hair and olive skin. I'm 5'8 and skinny. Not very skinny, just good size. Gabriella and I took dance together for 9 years until I quit. She still dances though. I do track and field to stay in shape. Clark and I do that together every morning at 7. I love running. It gets me excited and my heart pumping. I also do Volleyball with Jaden after school on Wednesdays. I'm 16, Gabriella is 17, Jaden is 16 and Clark is 17. Gabriella has really long hair, like to her butt. It's brown but lighter than mine and she's 5'5. Jaden has blond hair that falls to about mid-back, piercing blue eyes and she's 5'1. Clark has blond hair and light skin. He's super cute and the girls love him. He plays basket ball, football and he runs with me.
I have a little brother named Bryan. He's 8. My father was killed in front of me and my mother when I was 5. My cousin, Paige, was kidnapped in central park when we were 13. I am scared of almost everything now. I'm very superstitious. Everything freaks me out. Gabriella thinks it's funny how scared I am. I don't trust anyone. I've never had a boyfriend, for that reason, and I'm a virgin. I'm scared that I'm going to fall inlove with the wrong person who will make my worst fears true. Gabriella says I'm too paranoid about everything. She's right. It's just, I can't help it.
We live in New York City. We moved here from Toronto, Canada to be with my cousins, right after my father was murdered. Bryan is my half brother. But I don't call him that. He's my real brother. My mom has a boyfriend who is Bryan's father. He's bin away on business for two months. He's a millionaire. He has done so much for us. We came to New York almost broke. He's a great man. His name is Austin. I call him dad or Austin. He's like my dad though.
Paris, Raven, Mason, Ian and Lily were walking towards our table and I saw Gabriella blush when Mason sat next to her. Jaden and I exchanged looks and we giggled, which had Gabriella giving us a glare.
"Hey guys." said Clark.
"Hey." said Paris.
Paris and Clark really like eachother. Everyone knows, except them. And obviously we're not allowed to tell them. If only they knew.
